What my question comes down to is. If I use regular chaos spacemarines with chainswords and state that they are khorne berzerkers, will there be any problems with that? If so, how can I model them to look khorny without using those Khorne Berzerkers heads? My other alternative is using the forgeworld conversion kit which is expensive for me but they look so much cooler, but the problem with that would be that the shoulderpads will have a world eaters symbol instead of black legion, although I may not have too much of a problem with that but I'll be paying around 35usd just for different heads.

I want to paint them all black for my black legion army, I don't really want to use too much or any red color on them, Also I don't like the Khorne berzerker model, IMO most of the standard poses look silly, stiff or awkward, Including the helmets for I only like the one that looks like a medieval helmet, but those large decorative things on the top of their heads they look too cartoony and exaggerated, forgeworld world eaters kit look so much better.

I've bought the Khorne berzerker kit and assembled a bunch of them and don't like them very much, I had to re-pose them a little bit to make them look ok, I bought forgeworld's kit and it's so much better. My problem is that I would rather paint regular spacemarines, I like how they look but they aren't as good as Khorne berzerkers IMO and so I want to use them as Khorne Berzerkers. I want my army to read "black legion" so that if I decide to go zerker heavy it won't look like a world eaters army, that's why I don't want to use red. If this is not possible I would have to save to get the forgeworld kit and still paint them black.

Also If I decide to instead use the vanilla CSM wit CCW over zerkers, do you think they perform well in battle even though they're not fearless, don't have rage or furious charge and WS5? What do you think I should do?

I know It feels like I'm cheating but any thoughts on this would really help.

Thanks
Alan

Paint them however you want, as long as your opponent knows whats what then its fine, infact I believe fluffwise the black legion has its own beserkers, and theyre definately not exclusive to the world eaters

Bobug is right. According to the fluff, the black legion is equal to the world eaters in the art of creating berserkers.
All you need is an appropriate weapons load out.
ie pistol and cc weapon.
If they're on your army list as berserkers, then that's what they are.

All bunny ear marines are berzerkers, but not all berzerkers wear the bunny ears. Honestly I think it's mostly just a bunch of wannabe-Kharns, not realizing that extra twenty pounds pressing down on your neck really affects your long-time combat ability, slowly pinching off nerves and eventually leading to partial paralysis in the extremities.

And this is why Berzerkers have only one base attack now.

Thank you! I was curious about what people thought about that and how would they react to it, I'm happy that it's not that much a deal. I feel is practically proxying but I see now. Thanks!

Lol!! I know right? they look like bunny ears, I didn't thought of it that way but it's true. Yeah, they ought to take them off! is too bad they would only have two attacks in subsequent combat rounds, but one is all they need right?? Thanks for your awesome comment!

It would take an enormous douchebag to complain about that. As long as your berserkers are under the WYSIWYG rule, all is fair. The only thing I wouldn't like that much would be CSM armed with Boltguns and you saying "These are my Berserkers" .

And yeah, the bunny ears do look bad, way too big.
