I know, there are a few minor spots that I missed, but I'm not concerned about those too much. Mostly I want it to look nice when I bring it to the tabletop. With that said, anyone got any critiques for my first couple of Tau paint jobs? Right now, the colors I'm using are Mephiston Red (base coat), Enchanted Blue (armor plates), Russ Grey (Tau skin), and Chaos Black (sort of mechanical bits underneath the armor).
Also, what do you think of the Riptide head? I really don't think the color fits well at all, I was kind of experimenting at the time. I was considering changing it out for yellow or orange when I get some more supplies.

To be completely honest, I think red + green + blue is starting to look like a rainbow ! The blue as a contrast color is really good, but those green marks (and head!) on the riptide, make it look like a x-mas tree I think another warm or neutral color to replace the green would look much better, like orange like you said or white / grey.
Besides that, I like it!

Gotta agree about the green. The red and blue could work with some dry brushing, and the weapons look pretty cool. But the green just doesn't fit.

Ha, yeah, I need to change the green. I thought it was ugly the minute I painted it. I considered going with white, but I really didn't want to go with all-American Tau (red, white and blue). Orange is next on the list, just as soon as my paint comes in.

A more neutral color would be better than orange. Black or white would be best.
Also, you should thin down your paints. It's going on very thick. Some highlighting and a wash would help as well.

I think the green is fine. I didn't actually consciously notice it until it was mentioned. That blue sure pops! Some highlighting to add depth to the scheme would be great, it's very clean but a little flat. I think it'll really stand out, good job!

For the center light thing, you could stay with green, but I would take it all the way to Bilious cut with white ( whatever the current color is ). What you've got is too close to Christmas tree green. For the top part that's green right now, I would change that to the blue you've got accenting the rest. For the model as a whole, it looks like you just need to go to the next step with shading the whole thing, then highlighting back up.
