You can't buy pairs that aren't twinlinked I don't think. You can buy a TL system and an extra plas, which would give you rerolls for just 5 points more, but I don't think you can buy singles.

Against deathwing I'd go with an ionhead if you're gonna take longstrike, because the sub round leaves much to be desired vs termies. Ion sub rounds are much better because you can also fire multiple single shots.

The alternative is to nix the railhead and take more crisis suits. For those points you could take 6 more plasma rifles. Or you could pick up the landraider killing slack by fielding some novaforge suits (triple fusion blaster)

Latest Tau FAQ clarifies that you can buy two non twin linked weapon systems for suits. So two guns is perfectly legal.

He can. It was in Errata that it is possible to buy 2 separated weapons. You can even buy 4. Also it's not about points but suit hardpoints i guess.

I don't see the point in the Onager gauntlet on you commander. Cut it.

Only one model in a unit needs hit and run for the entire unit to benefit.

As others have said, he's fat. Irid will do no good versus enemy PFs or THs.

Ah, so much potential, wasted. Here's how you lose your friend:

Demote the bodyguard to regular, Elite dudes, Helios. Cmd. is a Helios (or dual PR), too. Now, promote one to Vre, giving C&CN + MultiSpec. Now you have 3 PRs & 3 FBs (again, dual PRs as an option), all Twin Linked, ignoring Cover. Shooty Wolf Guard now poop their drawers, even in ruins, And the StormShields Save on 3s.

I normally poo-poo Shield Gens, but if he's all PWs(Frost Toys), THs, & PFs, then it'd be good to keep 'em, and a VRT.

Decoy Launchers are a Flyer toy, no? No good for Skimmers? Way too many toys on this too. I'd shave point for more Helios, or dual PR Crisis Suits.

What are helios??

Helios is a name of a XV8 configuration. It has two guns one plasma Rifle and a fusion Blaster

PRs and FBs are high STR and AP nasty, making a Storm Shield very necessary. This, IMHO, is the tau's codex's best answer to TH/SS termies.

Helios 8 - TL-FB, PR
Helios 6 TLPR-FB
(the number is the STR of the TL gun)

Now checking an ATT post, I found that dual PRs do not have a name.
Maybe dual katanas? The Leonardo TMNT?
