I cannot tell you how much money I would give games workshop to have a Total War version of Warhammer. With all of the different races I feel like it would be a re playable game. Hopefully this is the right part in the forum for this discussion.
What do you guys think?

As an enormous fan of both the Total War and Warhammer 40k, I would probably pre-order it as soon as it was announced. Though highly unlikely, since we are talking about battles with thousands and thousands of troops, and unless we control more than one chapter, we only have a max of 1000 space marines unless, while the IG had a unit with 150 guardsmen, the SM had one with 10
I can only hope DoW3 will keep bringing us enormous ammounts of awesome sauce.

I love the total war series, and would love to see a warhammer version, leave 40k to the relic guys, the fantasy setting would bring much needed faction diversity to the series.
Also, it'd have to be called Total Warhammer, otherwise they'd have missed a HUGE opportunity
Well then you're in luck since The Creative Assembly the studio behind the total war series got the rights in december to make a warhammer fantasy title.
Honestly, i cant find a reason for Sega to be purchasing Relic besides possible Warhammer game on the Total War engine. Company of Heroes 2 is going to be a good game, but with no Dawn of War 3 in development it seems like a pretty expensive buy for a studio that hasnt developed a new engine in what, 8-9 years? Maybe a bit of wishful thinking, but Relic was really not in a great position. A new engine has to come, CoH2 is looking quite dated already and it hasnt been released.

Do they still have Orcs with muslim voicelines? Because nothing brought me out of the immersion faster than Orcs calling me "sadiq."

I finished the "Order" campaign but never finished the Chaos one. See if it's for your liking while waiting for a potencial "Total War" one

I see a lot of possibilities with "Total Warhammer" in terms of innovative gameplay, and with a professional crew like creative assembly its bound to turn into a great game.
However it could fail to be what it could be.
I picture chaos going a couple ways. CA could explore chaos gods and the choices they bring, whether it be Nurgle, Khorne, Slaanesh, or Tzeentch... Choosing one god could dictate how your forces operate, add depth, and replayability to your campaign, as opposed to just going the DoW route and having a noise marine unit you could buy, or a Bezerker here and there, and have that one type of daemon even though you'd rather have plaguebearers.. (lol)
Spoiler:
i really could rant for hours about how bland and stupid the Chaos Marines were in DoW. (It's like they put spikes on their armor and snorted some cocaine. Holy sheise they were so god damn bland and predictable. Like a stereotypical cultist. Read Fulgrim... read the night lord series, or storm of Iron and you'll see that Traitors aren't dudes in power armor with heads up their own asses and that they actually can have depth to them.
"DARK GODS OH MAH GAWWWD IM ANGRY AND GOT SPIKES ON!!!"
holy gak i feel like gordon Ramsay eating gak soup when i play that game
"Aspiring champion YOU STILL HAVE USE FOR ME hahaha THat is why i'll heal you hahaha not cuz your my brother who fought in the other crusades with me i care nothing for you or anyone in my legion hahaha.... Horus is gay.."
.
To reiterate on this... Let's say I'm a chaos player, I want to personalize my flavor for my faction, so I go into the research menu and research all the Nurgle stuff. So now I'm running into battle with Nurglings, guys in green armor, and other crazy nurgle things. Then my banner turns into the nurgle symbol as opposed to a bland black flag with a spike on the top.
I mean you could even have civil wars against Khorne worshippers or what not. Just an idea
More so you could do this with other factions... Wood Elves could have seperate entities that are more oriented towards Tree Kin and other forest beasts or you could take another route and focus on archers and fire superiority. There are a lot of possibilities to this.
Not to mention character creation and customization.. Who doesn't like putting themselves into the game?
They could also expand on the their attributes, leveling them up and making them more powerful. (Sorcerers can gain new spells, warriors can do shouts or w/e)
But again... It might just end up being Rome 2 copy where you have said factions that are on rails. It would make the game fantastic if they could add some depth to the the factions. I know it will be a good game, but I don't know if it will be a great game.
I hope, but doubt.
Spoiler:
I think why people like warhammer so much is because you can be what you want to be and see yourself in some of the characters. Put yourself in the universe and immerse yourself around a fantasy. Video games help you capture that and if CA wants to capture Warhammer fans i think they need to be able to let their game take us away to our fantasy lands.. not a historical one.

Personally, I am kind of psyched to see how they take the fantasy setting. Hope they kind of go in depth in the factions as Ifepy stated and does not disappoint (Mark of Chaos was a disappointment to me). Have to see how they will handle the characters (kind of seen it in Shogun 2, but I have not played that yet).
