I haven't got it yet! How does it differ from the first Wargame? I saw it's meant to have a campaign that I guess is sort of like the one in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, but supposedly playable in coop mode. That sounded pretty exciting!
That said, I never won the first one, so... I'll probably end up getting the new one though.

It adds aircraft. That is the main thing, the campaign is supposed to be co-op but i am not sure what type it means by that. It may be versing or actually working together but we will have to wait to find out. Only the MP beta is out if you prepurchase the game.

It adds aircraft for one. Aircraft are very well done, both fragile and powerful, and have their own unique uses and functions-- for example, they're off map until you call them in, and you can either call them in for a bombing run by clicking "fire position" then a target or call them in to circle around an area (and then order them around the map). They go back off map via flying up to the sky and disappearing whenever they run otu of fuel or when you hti the Evac button.
However, aircraft are pretty vulnerable to anti-air, as you'd expect. In order to have any serious air support without losing all your aircraft in the first ten minutes (or less, if the enemy knows what they're doing), you'll want to take out the enemy's anti-air first. The best kind of AA is radar AA, however, SEAD aircraft are specifically designed to take radar AA down, and they're very, very good at it. Beyond that, there's infrared missiles, which aren't as accurate as radar abut don't have its drawback, and flak weapons like the vulcan, which tend to be a bit cheaper and easier to deploy in large numbers.
There's some balance changes as well. Logistics is less of a concern in this game-- I've never once needed to deploy a FOB, whereas in EE I always deployed all four FOBs. Light tanks are better than before, and infantry in towns are utterly brutal even compared to before. Artillery has been nerfed and fire is a bit more powerful-- artillery mostly suppresses enemies, while fire panics enemies and kills infantry, making napalm weapons quite deadly against entrenched troops. Several new factions, mostly NATO, have been added in, such as Canadians. In addition, the way you build decks is different, as well. You can give yourself limitations-- such as to a specific country, a specific playstyle, or only using units before a certain date-- in order to gain certain bonuses (playing as Canada only gives you 7 more command points to pick units with; playing Armoured restricts certain units but gives tanks more xp and makest hem cost fewer command points, restricting yourself by date makes you have higher numbers of units per choice, such as having 3 A-10s instead of 2).

That all sounds pretty amazing. I guess I don't have much of an excuse to not get it, now!
Have you tried any of the vaunted new features like the larger(?) maps or the 10v10 multiplayer? Or noticed the "new graphics engine"? That one sort of scares me because I don't remember the old one running all that well.
I guess I will click the button on Steam and let it download.

Didn't notice any real graphical difference and haven't played the 10v10 yet myself.

I know on my rather crappy computer the game runs very well. THe engine looks nice but doesn't really task your computer. I prefer 10v10 as the games are hosted by the server not a person. This removes lag unless you are the one lagging. I very much enjoy and play it over smaller games.

This game looks pretty epic, reminds me a lot of WiC. I mustn't pre-order it though to get the Beta as I'm in the middle of my finals at university. Just have to wait till July i guess

I guess I can see the comparison to WiC... but to me, WiC just doesn't even begin to compare in terms of gameplay quality, variety, etc.

Sounds promising. Done some more reading up on the game, the amount & variety of units sounds incredible! What types of game-modes are there?

For normal games, rather than there being specific gamemodes, there's only really one gamemode-- destruction. However, you can add modifiers to it, so that it can also end after a certain amount of points (each destroyed unit gives a number of points), after a certain amount of time (with points determining the victor), or any combination of the two. Dunno about 10v10, if it has any special rules-- it probably has a time limit is my guess.

A couple of friends got the game and I played a bit with one of them last night. I don't have anything specific in mind so I'll rattle off some impressions.
The units are fun. I love infantry and they can get some really heroic stuff going on. I had a platoon of infantry moving fast ahead of our main advance to get into a town. They ended up encountering resistance and one of their trucks got blown up, so they dismounted and managed to make it into the cover of the town. There they had a running firefight against other infantry and some AFVs inside the town. They ended up with at least a couple of dozen unit kills by the end of the mission.
The game is still cute. Watching the various units fight is pretty fun. Seeing planes fall burning from the sky to skid along the ground is reasonably spectacular. Europe has some very scenic terrain to fight over.
I'm still coming to grips with the micromanagement. I'm having a bit of trouble in the skirmish mode because there's usually fighting on maybe three fronts at a time. I might just need more depth to my defense, but I think a bit of practice will make me improve.
There are, at this point, still some issues. The Economy game mode didn't function correctly for us in multiplayer. When we managed to get wiped out in a game against the computer, the game didn't end. I had some issues with infantry platoons having squads teleporting around between buildings and not firing - I think this was caused by the platoon being too large for the area of buildings they were trying to occupy. We also had the AI players seem to stall at one point - their offensive just petered out for no apparent reason. By and large, though, lots of fun.
We also experimented with making our own decks. I made an infantry-focused French deck. It had some problems with being a little inflexible - I had way more infantry units than I had points to deploy while not having enough anti-air units (the French infantry have no anti-air capability at all beyond small arms and machine guns) - but it was great fun having a personalised deck. The unmitigated disaster that saw us get wiped out by the computer was partly due to bad deck construction!
I am super looking forwards to the coop campaign mode and blowing up some bad guys. I hope it actually makes it to release in good condition.
So there you go!

Yes, the game is really better off with teams, rather than solo. The fronts are too big for all but the most active micromanagers otherwise.

I just wanted to clarify something super disappointing.
There is no coop campaign in the final product.
It was stated on the official page that there is a multiplayer campaign, and on their forums the FAQ (written by someone who does not work for the developer, but is just a fan) stated that the multiplayer campaign was both adversarial and cooperative. It turns out that this is not the case, and the only cooperative multiplayer option is skirmish battles against the AI.
So, I'm really sad!
Er, anyway, the game is out now.
