I was thinking of scratch building some tauros and Venator models to go along with my IG army. When discussing it with my friend, he mentioned that they were tiny.

I was wondering just how big they were. The Hades Breaching Drill is pretty darned small. Are they as big as that?

Any size comparisons or actual lenght/width/height would be helpful. I have the rules so no need to break any forum rules.

Thanks.

On moon miranda.

The basic Tauros is very small, the Venator is about the size of a Hades give or take.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

Based on the pics on the FW site, I'm guessing a Warbuggy or half a Chimera is about the right size for the basic Tauros.

Yeah, that's the problem with the Forge world pictures. You really can't tell how big the models are and you can't use the price as a determning factor at all.

I would hate to spend $50 bucks for a matchbox car. I don't know anyone that has either the tauros or the venator so it's a difficult choice.

Well, it's a lot easier to tell when there's an infantryman visible. Based on the guy standing at the back, I think it's about 2.5 Guardsmen long (so would be 15 feet or so IRL). 2.5 Guardsmen is maybe a little more than half a Chimera.

Of course, if you're looking for cheaper alternatives, they do exist.

Thanks for that. I did some looking around and found a picture of one next to a standing guardsman. The top of the vehicle is about 1.5 inches off the table (without the firing platform).

Based off of that, I extrapolated these dimensions in inches. 3.5 L, 2.5 W and 1.5 H. Just about the same dimensions as a land speeder.

Thanks for the link. I happen to have had one of those in the past (gots me some boys running around the house). I thought that it might make a good base.
