I picked it up from a Barnes and Noble store back in 2008-2009. It was one of those "Zombie apocalypse happens and the dude try's to survive" type books.

All I remember about it was that it was made to resemble a field manual, rather then a traditional paperback. The main character was an Air Force pilot, I believe.

I started reading it, but lost it soon after. I know this isn't much to go on, but I'm hoping this sparks someone's memory, and they can tell me the author/title.

Thanks.

Is it one of Max Brook's books? Try Zombie Survival Guide or World War Z. IIRC there was a part of WWZ that chronicled the experiences of an Airforce Pilot just like you mentioned.

Although I could be way off the mark.

No, none of those are it. This book resembled a military field manual (whereas Max Brookses books are simply paperbacks).

Oh well, thanks for taking the time, guys. I guess I'm doomed to never know weather that guy made it. ;-)

Max Brooks actually copied his ideas from this guy, if I recall.

How can Max Brooks copy this guy's book if he released Day by Day Armageddon in September of 2009? Brooks second book came out in 2007... His first book, the Complete Zombie Survival Guide was released back in 2003...

And Brooks first book resembles a field manual, probably not as professional as a special forces one, but it's a field manual nonetheless (basing it off of at least the BSA Field Manual, one of the only ones I actually know )

Calm down... just repeating what I heard. :-)

I know there's all this love for Max Brooks, but people keep thinking that he's the end-all of zombie stuff.

"Whats that one zombie book?"

"Oh, you mean World War Z.."

"No..."

"Zombie Survival Guide?"

"Uhm...."

"Oh! Oh! Recorded Attacks?"

".............."

Anyways, I view Max Brookses work as an "Idiots Guide to Zombies" type of deal. This book was actual fiction, telling a story. Closest I can think of to compare it to would be some of James Wesley, Rawles novels, only a million times better written.

Again, thanks for the help. I'll find it eventually.

Recorded attacks? does he have a third one out

And World War Z is definitely fiction, and it does tell a story (including 1 about a pilot trapped in the woods), but ZSG was designed to mimic a survival guide of sorts, there's not much of a "story" in it, but good luck sir!
