I rebuilt my list after trying out a very infilitrate outflank heavy list a few days ago and would like some CC thoughs ideas and so on on it.

The broadsides are 2 separate squads to keep for 50% reserves.
Deployment would be the 2 broadsides camp the ADL with the com relay.
Shadow sun w/ body guards and stealth suits infiltrate mid or back field depending on how the opponent deploys.
Dark strider sits in the devil fish with fire warriors and outflank w/ the kroot and rail pathfinders on the weakest side then roll out for objectives or what not.

Lose the EMPs. Trim to 9 dudes or go the full 12. At 12, it takes 4 casualties to cause a Morale Check. Once below that, it's only 3 dead guys. It's silly to take a Fish without a Dispod.

How Mech heavy is your local meta? Except for IG lists, Rhinos/Vins/LRs have disappeared.

It's not enough. You're risking getting tabled on two Armor 2 dudes.

Outflanking the Pathfinders? Dude, wtf? They're in a list for MarkerLights, not Outflanking. Did I misread that?

I don't see any of this really panning out. The whole Darkstrider angle just seems *fail* to me. I take it that you lost that game? It might need bigger, stronger Kroot Units to really exploit his buffage. And another of them. 4 scoring units.

Bah sorry dunno how to multi quote.
1. sorry the 3rd line are body guards taken for shadowsun.
2. Emps are needed because im basicly not running any mid to high straight weapons. also my meta is well mixed and i really really hate annihilation barges. they are squad of 11 so that darkstrider can sit with them. Im debating the d pod because they are outflanking otherwise yeah i would be.
3. they are outflanking on a single side mostly so the point is to move up and shoot. the rails are there to dump big wounds + they are rapid fire. (emp same as above)
4. missile drones seem pointless considering they are still bs 2. enlighten me please)
5. it Isnt only the 2 broadsides on the field turn 1.
6. markerlights are nice but so is weight of fire dakka. but i do have the option to switch to marker lights when it is called for such as things with shrouding and stuff.

the first time i tried it was 1000 points vs dark angels raven wing with that bike hero guy. and some deathwing terms w/ lib. i dont recall my full list but it is similar as above. (basically no shadowsun.) long story short i divided and conquered. tabled him but it was mostly for fun.

Type a bracket "[" then backslash "/" and the word quote followed by a colsing bracket "]" . Then, use all that without the slash "/" for the front end of the quote, or Copy&Paste.

Ah. 'Crons. Well, if it's a Frequent Opponent, then yup, keep 'em, although, I think you're missing out on the easily spam-able Missile Side Missile Drone goofery which is *way* too much STR7. ... and yes, this is where you type in all caps, "THERE'S NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH STR 7."

So far, I've found the MarkerLs (PFs) essential. I'm sure there are some builds that don't need MRkRLs, but I think the army was heavily written to include MRkRLs.

At 1k, tau would clearly have the advantage versus a low model count of Raven/Deathwing. You need to play more games.

On turn 1 there is 2 broadsides, 6 stealth suits, 2crisis suits + shadow sun. So basicly 11 2+ ish save bodies.


Yeah only 1 game but I through the list together for fun the first time and did well. So this is the refining second draft.

What list/unit/army might give me the most trouble?

In-My-Humble-Opinoin, Turn 2 attacks like multi-BattleWagon (which I lost to upon switching to a less-thought out list)), Dark Eldar h2h, and such. No one takes VanGuard muhreens, but *if* tau make a hard landing on the gaming meta, then I'd bet we'll see someone running lists with 6 to 8 of those jumpers. But VG would be my biggest worry. Ymgarl genestealers are also "Assault the Turn they Arrive" but without power armor to deal with Overwatch/Support Fire.

I've gone 3 & 1, the one list winning its three, but it needs a real test against power armor. I'd played the old 'dex for 7 years and I really think nothing has changed as far as the usual worries: Hordes & Fast Assaulting Armies. Hordes, not so much as if you run a 36 + FW with Ethereal gun-line. I woulda attended a RTT this weekend, except for the accursed Holiday that is Mother's Day.

Lol got stuck cleaning the attic for mothers day

Yeah so far 5w 1t 0l with the new book. Dying to get more games in but life is in the way.

I definitely will need to watch out for the early assault army though stratigic deployment should net some intresting results. (Made a snake with the adl to make deep strikes harder in front of my com + railsides making a stand off zone.

Personally on markerlights: They are not needed, but they are quite useful, so useful in fact that any oppoment you meet will focus them ( which is why people dislike putting the new rifles on the pathfinders, yes...because they are pathfinders )

So you can have a unit of 4 pathfinders on the table with the whatever you want to start with, and your oppment might fire at them instead of more interesting targets.

also Hyms are good, i played a 1k list with only 1 Broadside with Hym and SMS... and damn that thing deals a lot of punishment, imagne a unit with 3 broadsides and 6 missile drones ( thats 12 TL STR ap 4 shots, 12 TL Str 5 AP 5 Ignores cover homing shots and another 12 Str 7 ap 4 shots, so 36 shots and 24 rerolls for 267 points )
