Can death cult assassins and crusaders take whatever power weapon they want since its not specified? The other question is are Arco-flagellants arco-flails considered a chain fist or power fist type weapon for weapon stats purposes?

I believe the Assassins can choose their weapons, as for the Arcos, no, you're stuck with CCWs

DCA can be modeled to have a Power Sword, Power Axe, Power Maul or Power Lance. The Rules for Power Weapons state the model has which ever weapon it is modeled with (paraphrased). So however you wish to model your DCA.
As to Arcoflagellents, Read the Arcoflaggent rules for their flails. It's clear what the stat line is.

Types of Power weapons Page 61 answers this question.

Page 48 Codex Grey Knights lists what kind of weapon arco-flails are. (It is in the parenthesis).

Until GW updates the Codex or FAQ/Errata to state otherwise, DCA and Crusaders have Power Weapons So you can choose what you will for this. Using the official model and following fluff, DCA would be using slicing/slashing weapons (so Swords). Strictly RAW, you can give them Mauls and Axes if you like. Using the official model for Crusaders means they have Power Swords, but RAW and even fluff wise there is no reason they wouldn't use Axes or Mauls. Arco-Flails are described in the Codex as per what DeathReaper said.

Thanks for the help, i knew they had power weapons but my question which was answered was could i take an axe over a sword or vise versa. So long as its a power weapon its my choice didnt see anything in the FAQ about it.
As for the arco i know it says ccw but i didnt see the stats for ccw i thought it was more of a blanket statement like power weapons for the DCA

Stats for close combat Weapons are on page 51 of the BRB.
It has stats, it's not a blanket statement.

Considering that DCA and Crusaders for SoB were errata'd to have power Weapons, instead of power swords they originally had in the WD Codex, designer intent (= RAI) for these units is pretty much crystal clear in this case.

High weapon skill, high strength, lots of attacks and FNP. All for very few points.

And no save whatsoever...
Arco's are only good for fodder. Use Crusaders (With Power Axe or Power Mace) and Death Cult assassins (Power Sword and Power Axe or Power Mace works well) to do the heavy lifting.

I am building a henchmen / battle conclave unit and I gave one of my Crusaders a power lance.
Because I could.

Do axes or lance weapons count as two handed? I havent come across anything that says they do but i could be mistaken. I ask because if not then a DCA could take two axes with ap 2 which would be awesome.
Are jokaeros worth taking? Not with crusaders or DCA groups but with shooty type outfits?

Stats are on page 61, the ones with Two-Handed listed in their type are, the rest aren't.

"Two-handed" is a specific rule. If the weapon has this rule, it will be listed in its "type." But just because a weapon is modelled as two handed, does not mean it is two-handed.
For example, see a big chunk of my army:
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1140005&prodId=prod1160009a
None of these weapons have the "Two-handed" USR.

Ok so even if the models weapon is posed so that it is holding it with two hands does not mean its two-handed

Correct. The rules dictate what the wargear is. Power Weapons are all 1 handed as they do not possess the 2 handed rule.
Power weapons are the exception in regards to axe/maul/sword as far as the rules dictating what the wargear is, but even so the rules dictate that the model has a power weapon, then, and only in that cxase, do you look at the model to determine what type of Power Weapon it is.
