So with how my army is painted I follow an urban camouflage for my troops and I was wondering the other day about some tanks and vehicles that an Imperial unit would modify while extensively engaged in urban Affairs -

Urban Combat Vehicle - Chimera - 75 Points

- Upon entering the city Guard forces quickly learned that the lightly armored roof and sides of the Infantry fighting Vehicle were extremely vulnerable to shaped-charge attacks as well as other conventional explosives , in response Guard forces ( To the Tech Priest Dismay ) began bolting armor plating to the exterior of the IFV providing extra protection from mines and other attacks -

AV 12/11/11 3HP

Wargear -
Multi-laser
Hull Heavy Bolter
Search lights
Smoke launchers
Extra Armor

-- It may take all normal chimera upgrades

Special Rules -

Dedicated Transport ( don't know where this belongs but you guys get the drift )
Command Vehicle

Added Weight -- A Chimera fitted with Urban combat Gear may never move more than 6' in any movement phase as the added weight stress's the engine enough and any further push would be possibly fatal .

( Normally has Amphibious but I dropped that due to added weight of the plating reducing buoyance .

UCV - Leman Russ - 175

AV 14/13/11 3HP

wargear -

Hull Heavy Flamer ,
Sponsons Heavy Flamers
Extra Armor ,
Search light
UCV Battle Cannon
Dozer Blade

it may take all normal leman Russ upgrades

UCV Battle Cannon may choose to fire once per game the following profile

" Fortification Demolition round " S 6 AP 1 Haywire

Special Rules - none

Vulture Gunship's may take the Urban Strike Package - 60 Points
the Urban Strike Package consist of the following

x2 Twinlinked Autocannons ( on inner Wing mounts )

x2 Racks of 3 Hell Fury ( the napalm ones right ? )

the Vulture automatically receives additional armor plating being its AV to 12 on all sides but may only zoom ( Hovering would cause the aircraft to lose momentum and be unable to takeoff )

Stormtrooper upgrade -- Urban Strike Package - 30 points
the Entire Stormtrooper squad is upgraded to have 1 Demolitions charge and there Hot-shot lasguns are changed to Assualt 2 rather than Rapid fire

Unreliable system - Hot shot las guns being modified with the urban strike package must roll a D6 everytime they fire ( for each model no the unit ) on the Roll of a 1 there is a malfunction and the Stormtrooper may not fire that turn as the "upgrades " the troopers have made are only slightly unreliable

Urban Strike package -- these units have been given equipment to increase there lethality in the field of battle , these upgrades often come to the dismay of the resident Tech priest as the Troops in the field openly modify existing technologies to improve the survivability of there troops , these may take place in bolting extra armor onto a vehicle to increase resistance to IED ( Improvised Explosive Devices ) mines and RPG's ( Rocket Propelled Grenades ) where as others may be troops simpliy changing the settings on there rifles to fire "hot shot " charges at even greater range and lethality

Alright guys tell me what you think and im totally open to ideas

I think Forge World did a book that had all kinds of special rules for city fighting. There is a carnifex model that has a wrecking ball arm and a crushing claw and I have seen posts mentioning there are special rules but they only pertain to city fighting. Someone with more knowledge of Forge World books then I would need to chime in to tell you which book it was.

Completely ridiculous. The Vulture doesn't have enough hardpoints to carry all of that (get a Vulture model and try, it will look absolutely silly with that many weapons), and it's way too cheap (the hellfury missiles alone would be 60 points if you could carry that many). Also, the Vulture is already AV 12/12/10 so the armor upgrade is pointless. Are you sure you even have the current rules for it?

It's not a FW book, it's a GW expansion: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1092256

Some FW models do have city fighting concepts or aesthetic details, but those are just individual models, there's no overall rule set tying them together.

i think everything bar the vulture is good. i especially like the chimera. The vulture instead could have the jink special rule due to high rise buildings and increased anti-air fire power. for about 15 pts maybe. The vulture pilots would have to constantly jink around buildings so they are more triained to avoid flak

Hey, just wanted to say that I think all these sound like great ideas! I'd certainly play against them!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the Vendetta loadout personally, perhaps a tiny bit undercosted; but not horrendously so!

In the Tyrant's Legion list from IA 9 the Vulture can be outfitted with two Hellfury missiles for 20 points.
It can also take six hunter killer missiles; so you could always proxy the six hunter killer missiles (which fit on the model) as Hellfury Missiles.

At 60 points for 6 Hellfury missiles you are along the same price lines as IA 9 is.

With regards to the autocannons, IA 9 allows you to replace the multi-laser with a asingle twin linked autocannon for free. So perhaps an extra 10-20 points for a second twin-linked autocannon? I don't think it would look too crowded if you could mount it on the nose of the aircraft.

Keep up the good ideas!

I Apprecaite the Response's ! with the vulture mine actually does carry what i posted ( or is capable of it ) as i have the Apache Attack helicopter style Missile racks and the Autocannons are on Tripled Racks , it does look a bit obnoxois but it can work as for priceing what would you suggest - But i would be lying if i didn't say that i indeed didn't think though nearly as much for the Vulture as i did for the Chimera and Russ , my thought behind the increased armor plating on the rear was to have a bit more protection from rearward shots striking the vehicle

You could have it that the grav chute tech has been stripped out in favour for extra armour so it would lose the grav chute rule and gain better armour. like who would be jumping out of a jet over a city?

The Vulture already loses all of its transport capacity. This is an upgrade for the Vulture gunship, a pure attack aircraft, not the Valkyrie/Vendetta.
