I have quite a bit of the old metal Catachan imperial guard (the ones that look cool!) and I really don't want to paint them like the normal Catachan jungle fighter (green camo, red bandanas). Does anyone think they would look cool in any other scheme? What I mean is, would a model with stripped down armor and jungle clothing, (like the catachans) look out of place in an urban, ice or desert scheme? I just don't want the models to look like the clothes don't fit with the color.

The 4th edition codex shows some Catachans in desert camo (chocolate chip style)
I think there were some jet-black ones too

If we're talking the old metal 'Cats, how about just the Army green with no camo pattern with matching green bandanas?. I think they would still look boss without following too much of the established look.

That idea doesn't sound too bad

If you're going that route, perhaps check out my Catachan gallery. Mine are plastic models in an olive drab green livery with a lot of shadows and such
