Warrior Acolytes can be made troops in a GK army and are customizable.

How do you run Warrior Acolytes?

3 Warrior Acolytes in Psyback?

10 Warrior Acolytes with bolters/stormbolters and other special weapons in a transport?

The most attractive options to me are either 3 x Special Weapons in a shooty squad (Jokero, Servitors) or to minimize them at three basic to unlock a juicy psyback.

Options beyond that get too expensive for the advantages gained.

I personally like running 11 with stormbolters and a jokearo with coteaz to buff. It's cheap and can be effective to start, a good jokaero roll just makes the unit almost abusive, as my Dark Angel opponent found out the hard way as I got rending on the unit, hide them in a ruins with Coteaz providing a 2+ save up front, they kill two 5 man temrinator squads with no problem. He now hate how cheap and effective they can be.

2 monkeys and 10 bolter dudes seems optimal to me

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

However, Helldrakes are very common in my local meta and so I'd prefer giving the unit a transport.

They are good as a mob of them with just bolters too. They die like puffs of smoke to incoming fire, but put out equivalent amounts of dakka to a strike squad for a fraction of the price.

Ideally parked behind or in cover and/or with a rhino or chimera to get them to where they need to be.

I like 3x warrior acolytes with melta guns in a storm raven
3x warrior acolytes in a psyback
10x warrior acolytes 3 with plasma guns
otherwise they are just wounds for monkeys and servitors.

I need to return some video tapes.

Doesn't putting them in a transport make them a juicier hd target? They will be nicely bunched up for baleflaming after vector strikes destroy the transport.
Yes I'm struggling to mitigate multi hd builds without all terminator GK lists!

If you want to put jokaeros in an unit, the optimal is 2, for the roll thingie.

I just don't like spending the extra 35pts on the unit. One is fine with me.

Pretty much this, I run two ravens and fill them with 3 man melta squads, either for taking last turn objectives or just suicide AT unit.

What models do most use for the warrior acolytes? IG Storm Troopers or something?

I've used generic IG. If you buy a cadian and catachan box you can make 20 men, who all have some flavour with a kitbash. Throw in some spare bolt guns you have lying around (because who doesn't?) and you'll have 20 ready to go.

I'm also surprised no one has mentioned the chimera. I faced a nasty Coteaz list which just spammed bolt guns and 2 jokaeros in a chimera. My wolves were dying in droves. fething rending boltguns -_-

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

Chimera in this day and age are often frowned on just because of how easy they are to kill turn one. I'd rather save the points, fully load up on acolytes squads and use those extra points for goodies like dreadknights.

Chimerae are killed on turn one easier than razorbacks? That's just silly. With an ADL they're practically invisible on turn 1, and also gives your troops some cover when the chimerae do get destroyed.

I still really like the Chimera. AV12 is decently survivable and if you hide it turn 1 then you should be alright. Loading up in 1 is always a good idea. Extra mobility, protection, and offers some firepower of its own.

That was an interesting idea about the cadians and catachans. I may look into that. I was also thinking of using some corporation marines from Mantic's Warpath. They look pretty good and they're cheap as chips.

I do this, using Plasma Servitors. It's basically the only optimized part of my list and performs just as well as I expected. Prescience + Plasma Cannons is outrageous.

As for which units to use, I thought it would be fun to load up on Xenos infantry all modeled with bolters and purity seals and other Inquisitorial/IG knickknacks. I bought a box of Cadians then went to an online bit store and grabbed pieces of a tau fire warrior, dark eldar wych, eldar guardian, and a kroot. It cost almost nothing, just cents per piece, and IMHO looks outrageously cool that Coteaz has a Dark Eldar Interrogator, etc. Everything is 100% WYSIWYG with bolters and chainswords, too.

It's an Inquisitorial Retinue, according to the fluff you can do literally anything you feel like, there are no official models so it's not even "counts as", whatever you chose is the real model. I've been thinking of going further, lol, maybe a Necron and Ork added to the mix.

Just curious has anyone run Coteaz in a unit with 3x Plasma Servitors, 2x Monkeys and the rest bolter henchmen as deep strike defence. Be cool to see the monkeys upgrade the plasma cannons. Also be really good if coteaz got the ignores cover power and combined it with prescience for some accurate cover ignoring plasma cannons.

The monkeys can't really upgrade the Plasma Cannons, [strike]they can't upgrade the range[/strike], giving them Rending is pointless unless you're shooting at Land Raiders and the defensive upgrades aren't a big deal assuming the unit is hiding in ruins or behind an ADL.

Edit: Hmm, actually, re-reading the rule, it just says it can't affect Template weapons, so I guess Blast stuff could get a +12" range.

A Quad Gun is fun for Coteaz, if anything drops within 12" of him he can fire the quad gun as per I've Been Expecting You, then add the end of the movement phase, fire the Quad Gun as per its Interceptor rules, and as a bonus still shoot his eagle normally on your own turn, lol.
