I hope I have the right threat.

So I was watching miniwargaming and the cooler was playing against space marine and eldar. The space marine player was playing a droppod with in there 10 man and his HQ. Now I thought only 10 dudes could fit in there. Was this something they did wrong or did I mis the rule that says other?

What does the codex say for SM DPs?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

C:SM DP can hold up to 12 infantry mini's.

I do not know why they dropped it by 2 for the SW.

No.

Space Marine Drop Pods have a transport capacity of 12.

Everyone else has a transport capacity of 10.

That is the maximum number of models. Period.

As to the why...there's an interview where I think it was Mat Ward admitted to having his wrists slapped for it.

The question is about an army he doesn't play. No reasonable person demands that you buy every codex. This question is a perfectly valid use of the YMDC section. I understand we don't want to empower freeloaders, but we can still be reasonable about it.

No one is saying to go buy every codex. However, next time he is at his FLGS, he can look it up (or ask a friend who plays).

Or even better, ask your opponent to show you the rule on the spot when he claims his drop pod can hold 10 plus an IC.

To be fair, the OP was asking in regards to a battle report he was watching and it was not something that came up in a game of his.

The first part of this didn't occur to me. My local game store is pretty adamant about the 'this isn't a library' policy. Normally I would agree with you about asking your opponent to see their Codex, but I assumed he was checking up on something that had happened to him earlier at the hands of someone he didn't entirely trust. What's that say about me, I wonder?
