Hi everyone,

I really wanted to have a cool tyranid prime for my army, but I struggled for the longest time trying to think of a good conversion. All the conversions I saw online were really just tyranid warriors--very boring and not commanding at all. I wanted my prime to be like something halfway between a warrior and a tyrant. In the end I came up with a cool conversion where my Prime is just a little shorter than a tyrant but has far less bulk in the chest. Tall, lithe, and deadly!

I hate the flyrant "I can never land because I have skis attached to my legs permanently" so rather than waste those bits, I cut of the skis! These, along with the awesome flyrant tail, joined with a bunch of other tyranid bits to create the prime. Also, it is fully magnetized!

Please tell me what you think!

It's head looks a it small, but your paintjob is great in my opinion.

That looks really great. It reminds me of a modern take on the 2nd edition Tyranid Warriors.

My first thought exactly. I see echoes of the 2nd Ed. Warrior in this miniature. Great job!

Thanks, guys. Emphasis on "modern"! Those 2nd edition turkey heads were UG-LY!

The purple looks very out of place for my taste, but it IS painted well.

Very neat conversion, but wrong base size for a Hive Tyrant :S

Hi guys,

Yeah the purple seems to bother some people, but more people really like it. Personally, I think it really helps break up the green and it gives a visually cohesive element tying the army together.

Lol, he is a tall one, but side by side with a tyrant, you can see the difference in bulk.

I like your color scheme. The colors are very dark which creates a 'menacing' look if you will, which I think Tyranid needs. The purple faces are cool too.

Thanks zaak, I definitely prefer Nids to be sinister. Im glad that you find them to have a menacing look, that was my intent from the start.
