Can they do it? Last I remember, back in like 3rd edition, they couldn't, but it looks like they may be able to now.

If someone could direct me to the part of the rulebook that says they can I'd be much obliged.

i cant see why there would be a problem, but just remember that a unit must move at the speed of it's slowest model, due to having to remain in coherency.

so unless you are talking about a Biker Captain joining Assault Marines or something similar, then the bike is pointless

Not true. Each model moves as it is allowed. The only time the unit moves at the speed of the slowest model is when charging.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Ill edit for clarity

Not necessarily. If the bike was at the back of a conga line (think a large mob of Orks) then it could move its max movement and still maintain coherency.

yeah, but who in their right mind puts a 2+ save (Artificer Biker) at the back?

It just got there in the previous turn? There are a number of reasons why the artificer biker is at the back of the unit instead of the front.
