I know how big a riptide model is compared to other GW's models. However, I don't know how big it is comparing to other "big" models from competing companies (e.g. colossals from Privateer Press).

Does someone have some pictures to post? The question comes up when the price of a big model is put into question. Is $85 for a big model comparable to the market other offerings?

It's all relative. PP large figures are a combo of pewter and resin, thus making their cost skewed. I think the Riptide is a touch smaller than these.

The Riptide is shorter than the Trygon, if that tells you anything. You can also get Master Grade Gundam kits (1/100 scale gundam models) for about $65 USD. These kits can be from 5" to 12" in height determining on the unit they are based upon.

Spoiler:

I plan on running that as mine someday. Probably just buy those sooner than later just to futz with cause they are cool kits that blow GW stuff out of the water (twice the bits/sprues, full articulation, makes a GW kit look like BABY STUFF, i.e. it's hard mode).

Just my $0.02.

I actually have a FAZZ and compared to the Riptide it's a lot bulkier and stands about an inch and half taller than the Riptide. It's a really good model though and the weapons seem to fit the Riptide options nicely.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

You, sir, win +1 from me tonight. Thanks for the input. Good to know that I can grab one and run it with very little griping (outside of Gundam haters) on actual gameplay.

I have an MG Heavy Arms, too. May not be WYSIWYG for an Ion Cannon, but I'm sure I could get a pass.
