Correct me if I'm wrong but iirc in the GK codex Inquisitor Valeria has a piece of wargear that functions exactly the same as a Tesseract Labyrinth, that she 'acquired' from a Xenos world. Yet in the Necron codex Trazyn sends it to her and from what I infer she gets trapped in it. Obviously she escapes and has somehow worked out how it functions to boot, and I know the GK book came first, but the two stories don't add up in my head. Any ideas?

Just because one book comes out before another does not mean that the in-universe stories contained therein follow the same chronology.
Basically, the stats provided to Valeria in C:GK provide her with the Hyperstone Maze bit of wargear. The story in C:Necron is her falling prey to a similar bit of xenotech.
Also, just because she was in possession of one Tesseract Labyrinth doesn't mean she can't fall prey to one herself. I don't think the one she has from the Xeno World is the same one that Trazyn attempted to capture her with. The latter event may have explained, to some degree, how the former device functions, but I don't think these devices are one and the same. They seem to be one-shot deals (like half of her wargear).

Her wargear is the same one that Trazyn sent her though I'm 99% sure. Either way, GW writers should read each other's work because if authors X and Y at least checked that the books stories added up and then things like this wouldn't happen

The REAL question here is... if the two items are indeed separate... what happens if one gets trapped inside the other?

That's expecting a level of continuity and canon that 40K simply doesn't have, I'm afraid.
Though, the argument can also be said that she *did* acquire the Hyperstone Maze from a Xeno World.... whatever world it was Trazyn sent it to her from.

It was Solemnace, that's Trazyn's Tomb World, and having consulted a GK player it is the same item. Obviously Valeria is basically a genius to a) escape and b) work out how the thing works (that is if she actually got trapped at all there's no statement she actually did). I might do a challenge next time I play GK for the great irony of Valeria trapping Trazyn in his own little toy

Makes sense. Val's got enough problems with her critics in the =I= to say "Oh, yeah, this... it was a gift from a guy I'm totally not at all interested in. He just can't take a hint, you know? What? Who is he? Uh, *cough*Necron Lord Trazyn *cough*."
Instead, she tells them "I got it from a Xeno world." She knows this because Trazyn had a return label on the package.

I can see the reply letter now...
Dear Lord Trazyn of Solemnace,
My... thanks for your wonderful gift. It truly is a remarkable device. Fortunately someone else read my mail and is now trapped instead of myself. Though I must end our acquaintance, my colleagues do not look favourably on xeno-human relations.
Oh I do love the Inquisition

He says if she can escape it's clutches, she may find it useful. Clearly she did, and now it's a part of her War-gear.
I enjoyed that bit from both codexes quite a bit.

Pretty much this. It was a neat little connection between the two books. Don't get what's so hard to understand.
