I'm not sure if this is the place to ask for help, but I am in some desperate need of guidance by more seasoned 40k vets than I. I just got the Space Wolves battleforce, and was wondering, what, in your opinion, would make the most flexible 1000pt force. A force that is solid and will give me a room for error. I just hate mashing plastic together and throwing weapons around with a vague idea of what would work well together. I would seriously appreciate any help!

Grey Hunters + Plasma Guns (not pistols) and a Wolf Standard is a solid starting point. Depending on the points, you'll want 3-4 of them probably. Some recommend Meltaguns, but I've always favored Plasma myself.

Everything else in the Codex is designed to support your Grey Hunters. Some Wolf Guard to form a do-or-die Terminator unit or act as squad leaders, some Long Fangs for ranged fire support, and TWC to act as a rapid-response unit or counter charge unit to pull your Grey Hunters out of the fire.

Definitely search the forums for other SW lists to get an idea of what you want to play. SW are strongest as a 'hybrid' list, using both foot, cavalry, vehicles, and drop pods to harass the enemy.

Alright, well for now, with what I have, 3 5 man GH packs with plasma, mark of the wulfen, and a standard. Then 5 wolf guard, though what should I arm them with? And can't afford termies now, so would standard power armor be fine? And what should I arm scouts with? And lastly, I can pick up some long fangs, and arm them with two las cannons and two missile launchers. I have about 80 bucks, so what's another effective unit I can buy besides the long fangs?

Magnetize ! !

Seriously. Magnetize the arms on your wolf guard at least. You'll be changing your wargear around so often, and with magnets you don't have to buy 20 wolf guard just to have every single possible combination of wargear.

You don't really need to magnetize Grey Hunters, but I at least magnetize a single dude from each group of 10 grey Hunters so that I can give him a power weapon if I want. Most of the time it's just a chainsword.

It's not that hard to do at all either.

For infantry models - dudes with power armor or terminator armor - I use the 1/16" x 3/32" magnets. You'll need a pin vice

But don't bother buying drill bits from the hobby stores (= overpriced). Just go to Home Depot and buy some bits for a dremel tool.
