Three Color Minimum

I heard about this a month or so ago when the other half and I bought a starter set each. We've played a few games and enjoyed them, and painting the ships has been a nice change of pace.

Disapointed but not surprised. This is exactly why I refuse to buy into new miniature game systems. The products are too short term for all the effort of painting them and making scenery.

As others have said, they did not manage or support this line very well and I do regret all the ships I bought. I wont make that mistake again, for all their faults, I know that 40k and fantasy are likely to be around for as long as I am.

I am not going to support any more small games companies, just not worth the risk.

Sorry, but this is a terrible, terrible attitude to have, if enough people thought like this no new system would ever get off the ground.

Be that as it may, it's a sensible attitude for an individual customer who does not want to incur any risk. It's never wrong to be looking out for number one and let the rest of the world to fend off for themselves.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Except new games can be fun for you and your friends. For the price of playing 40k, I play 5 other game systems, each of which offers a totally different and very fresh experience?

Good points. Unfortunately the piece missing from every game sold is a ready supply of opponents. If you have a steady group or even just a single regular opponent that will play new stuff, then you're golden. If you don't then you have to rely on the game being popular enough or you being persuasive enough to get others to play it.

Like it or lump it, GW's marketshare enables them to provide many players with opponents.

Back to the UNCHSEAS discussion, it sold out when the first release of 1st edition hit our FLGS. I was able to get exactly two games in (I had to bring both fleets AND teach as we played) in before it became clear that nobody but me had any intention of playing the game.

Agreed. It's a nice game and the models are very well done. Lots of potential.
Good to hear of a group getting some mileage out of it.
