Now to start off with i am in no way associated with The Combat Company, this came up on my FB feed this morning...
It seems that GW is up to shenanigans with its stock for the Eldar Release. as in well read the attached article and it explains it, BUT the Short version is GW has "Allegedly" held back 66% OF ALL STOCK arriving into australia for its own stores and direct sales, the other 33% is going to be spread amongst any other store in australia that orders, with GW not confirming any orders till it may or may not turn up

http://www.thecombatcompany.com/whats-happening-with-the-eldar-release/

So there is the letter, have a read and post up what you think of this.

And I was thinking I would buy elder again after 10 years not playing them :0 they really seem to want to choke the life out of the game here.

TCC been great with every order I have place and with all communication, in the end this wont get me to buy off GW, if I order there products agin :(

Not happy to see this happen.

Do they have the size as a company/on our gaming scene to do anything about their claims of seeking legal possibilities? Or are they quite a small lot?

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

mmm i think they are a decent sized business, its a can they afford to take a run at GW, maybe if they have other business join in on like a class action.here in aus we have anti-monopoloy and fair trading laws, so i imagine that if it went that far then GW might get a hot poker somewhere.

That's kind of what I was asking, because depending on their size they may be able to get other stores to join with them in attempting to level legal action, but if they were a small store then they were probably going to have to go it alone, in which case I wouldn't have much confidence. They are also cheaper than my local store, so I may order from them and see if they can get models in without a 6 week wait.

The problem is GW HQ is in the UK. The ACCC can't do much at all (they've already been contacted basically every time GW pulls something here).

Seeing as there is no less then 37 GW stores in australia/new zealand, vs the 25ish independent stores estimated. A 33% split doesn't seem all that unfair.

but by operating here they still have to conform to local laws... otherwise the columbian drug houses could go stupid....

Automatically Appended Next Post:
its a 66>33% split... not 33>33 , gotta take into account the 33% GW is holding for their online sales...

This isn't really a 40k thread, I'd move this to the general discussion board but we've got a thread on this in news/rumour so we'll stick to that one.

Thanks for the thought and effort though .

.. a lot of GW Aus/NZ jobs on their careers website at the moment eh ?
