I have been a long term WHF player but am diving into 40k. I had never painted a 40k army before and have had very few fantasy armies down. I am more of a player than painter. Since I am attending a GT soon, I set into a path to completing my first painted 40k army. The catch to this one is that I got the army 28 days ago in a trade. It was in 3 different paint schemes and was mangled. I bought one piece, the riptide, and went about cutting and hacking on the army to get it into playable shape. I then added the baseboard and went zero-to-hero in 28 days. Let me know what you think!

Thanks Jimsolo! And yeah, I might of gone overboard on the red, but Tau paint schemes in the book are one trick ponies when it comes to color scheme it seems like, so I felt okay doing it. Also, red is my favorite color, so I didn't mind.

And there aren't Ethereals with Farsight, but coming from a fantasy background I felt much more comfortable with the leadership bubble that he gives, it was my one non-themed part in the army.

As JO said, there are no Etherals in Farsight armies. Still quite badarse if I do say so myself.

That's a pretty awesome Tau army my friend though my only slight negative point is the Kroot. I don't know they seem to be too red and are lost in the army as a whole if you can see what I mean.

Either way the army looks brilliant !

^ This, Being as i was just about to say how great the army looked, Untill i read the above comment and had to look again to see that there where actually kroot in the army lol.

But im going the oposite of you. In the Codex they have Shadowsuns entire Army listed.

Apart from a few Tanks im nearly there.

Did you get the Farsight enclaves Sholder pads for the fire warriors?

Yeah, the Kroot were the first thing that I painted and was thinking that I wanted to be different, problem is they are dull and the orange melds in too well.

I look forward to seeing your army cerbrus2, I thought about Shadowsun, just thought Farsight might more competitive. I didn't get any special models for the army, other than converting the FW Tau Crisis suit commander (I forget his name). Everything else is pretty stock.
