started feilding oblits after much reccomendation online, did em proper with veterans and mark of nurgle but they all went to hell when playing my brother as i realised how much plasma he was carring around the feild. and when I switched to tzneetch marks he ID most of them with lascannons on his tri las pread.

i need an alternative way to cart heavy weapons onto the feild any ideas, he has 2 libraians running diviation so cover saves are rather useless

What do you want them for, anti-tank or anti-personell? If it's anti-personell (especially marines) try Noise Marines instead.

If it's anti-tank, how about melta-havoks (needs vulnerable rhino), combi-melta-terminators or melta+combi-melta raptors. Deep striking in the latter two if needed.

melta raptors do a good job of dealing AT and still being able to do things after tanks are gone

i usually see them DSing in my backlines and popping my tanks so i know from experience that they are rather annoying to your opponent and if left untouched will take out your opponents tanks rather quickly and will assault any shooty units

Use havocs, more models, more wounds. Las cans 1 wasted on them, and so are plasma guns.

Minimal, havocs, 3 ac, lc-125

3 ac provides flexibility between, fmc, mc, flyers, light tanks av 12 and glance av 13. The single lc gives it that extra punch to get a single chance to pop a lr or monolith.

Buy 5 more bodies. If you have extra pts, give them MoT for a 6++ invul if he continue to send ap2 shots guided by libby.

Well, in order to help you out, we'll need your army list and also that of your brother.
Tank heavy armies are rare in the 6th ed, bar IG and whatnot. How did the enemy manage to reach your Oblits with plasma guns?

i struck them in near tanks, he has a deathwing land raider crusader to cart knights in, but mostly he uses it for anti personnel fireing, and shelding the plasma mob that walks behind it (contains pistol, gun and cannon). melta is the only thing that touches it and often the oblits dont finish it off. i cant hit the men behind it without killing the raider or bringing in my drake and if i go for the marines i get hit by his nephillim.

none of his squads use rhinos as he doenst move them very far he just puts them in cover and wastes me from afar.

list of mah bro
raider with knights
tri las pred
nephilim fighter
tactical squad 1 with plasma pistol, gun, and cannon
tactical squad 2 same as above
tactical suad 3 with pasma pistol gun and a flamer
2 librarians 1 rides in naked command squad with banner of dev.

my gear (my list changes alot but these are what i got to play with)
3 oblits
demon prince with wings armor and AoBF
demon prince with wings armor and sword that i use as black mace
20 marines with plasma gun flamer HB and meltagun
5 spawn
1 lord/sorcerer from the DV box
1 juggerlord
1 terminator lord/sorcerer
5 fully magnetised preds which i double up as rhinos when needed (can have everything)
12 zerkers 1 has powersword
1 land raider
2 helldrakes (but we have a flyer limit ie if he brings 1 i can bring 1, if he brings 2 i can bring 2)
1 havoc squad armnaments AC LC ML x2
assorted champs for all

Yeah seeing your list and your brothers would be good.. I still think Oblits with Mark of Nurgle is very nice, but I do like Havoks but only with autocannons as they are nice and cheap and have some chumps with them to take the first few wounds out front. Predators aren't bad. I have not been happy with Forgefiend, but usually in my list they are trying to kill the really fast things so Oblits are not the target priority, I usually have a spawn squad with a lord on bike or jump pack +/- sorcerer to bump them up, so usually they are trying to take them down or other targets first... if someone targets something enough any unit will die, but it depends on what it dies for.. if it allows your CC unit to get into CC and get the oblits points back, then it was worth it...

What I did in order to improve the survival of my Oblits is by taking an allied Blood Thirster with Grimoire of True Names & target the the Oblits as the recipients of its effects.

Oblits with MoN & 3++ are damn tough.

Since you don't have a BT, you can still use your DP as an allied Daemons HQ in order to get the GoTN.

Normally, a sqd or two of 10 regular CSM with 2 Meltaguns + Champ's combi-melta in Rhino with pintle combi-melta are enough for my anti-tank capabilities, especially with Huron as the Warlord.

I would keep running the Oblits. Also, I would run the Havocs.

Oblits are the one thing in your army from the available tools that can threaten the Land raider. Even if they die the next turn they still make their points back if they kill it. But you have to deepstrike them in melta range of it, early in the game, and that will strand the knights where they are useless.

After that, you just have to deal with the Nephilim. Havocs with Flakk Missiles will help. If you can, you might want to pick up an Aegis Defense line though. Once the nephilim is gone your Helldrake will control the board.

Keep the juggerlord and spawn, and if you can, bring two helldrakes. Two helldrakes beat the two nephilim hands down. The baleflamer just eats tac squads for breakfast, and you can snipe out that banner.

i double them up as rhinos buy removing turrets and sponsons and repalacing with doors and a hatch
i love that kit too much, i have a pred for every god and one painted word bearer coulors
