Hey all.

Just a question out of sheer curiosity, has this ever occurred? And if it has not occurred, is it possible?

I can imagine that a slaanesh-driven chaos marine or cultist, could possibly or potentially, become hermaphrodites in the manner of daemonettes if they were mutated on the dark princes whims.

I know there is a die hard following of "Female space marines are impossible" and such, but in this situation, they were not female or hermaphrodites before they became slaanesh-orientated.

Question comes from seeing a really cool conversion of noise marines with daemonette head's, ranging from noise marines up to true possessed who were even further along in this way.

So, thoughts?

In the Black Crusade FFG RPG rulebook, one of the Slaaneshi gifts, if your character is dedicated to Slaanesh, can be to become a hermaphrodite, essentially becoming genderless. How this works with regards to renegade Astartes I'm not sure, but I do know my Slaanesh dedicated Chaos Lord/Lady is loving it.

It's Chaos. By its very definition, *anything* can happen. If a Champion in Terminator Armour, the most powerful personal defensive system in the known galaxy, can be transformed into a mewling mess of spikes, tentacles and eyeballs because one of the Chaos Gods thought it'd be funny, they can sure as hell grow lady-parts.

Hell, give 'em multiples of everything!

I wonder if one noise marine somewhere is a flat out woman because Slaanesh felt particularly lulzy at the moment.

Depends on what you mean by "flat-out", I suppose.

Since they're Space Marines, they certainly didn't start life as female. The gifts of Chaos are multitudinous, however.

In the mindset of a Slaaneshi devotee they've gone beyond the limit of gender and are thus genderless. They may be to all intent and purpose androgynous but they've gone beyond the concept of gender.

Hmm, not sure I'd see it that way. They have opened themselves to pleasures beyond the comprehension of normal mortals, to be sure, but I don't think they've become "genderless". Rather, they've become something like "octo-gendered", where they have gender expression in eight, rather than two, axiis.

That is one way of looking at it but I prefer to see having a gender as a limitation, even a categorisation, for a Slaaneshi devotee. To go beyond having a gender, mentally, is another step on the path to the twisted perfection of Slaaneshi cultists. It's down to individual interpretation & perspective, but that's how I see it.

There was also an image in the 3.5 codex which seems more like the way they'd end up.

I mean, Slaanesh devotees are devoted to pleasure in any way, so it wouldn't really matter to them if being a woman turns out to be more pleasurable than being a man.

There is no "likely" with Chaos. There's just whatever the hell it is you get as your gifts.

Luckily Daemon Princes/Princesses can choose to take whatever shape they want. It's just that big ugly monster is the most useful one in battle. Outside of the battlefield, I'd think Slaaneshi Daemon Princes/Princesses would *ahem* exercise their "fantasies" with shapeshifting.

The line between Prince and Spawn is a narrow one. One bad day when your Patron Power is feeling particularly capricious, is all it takes to fall to gibbering madness and warp-ruined body.

I'm pretty sure some of the Emperor's children have been turned into those who would fit western standards of beauty, if only because Slaanesh wanted some cheap lulz and see the aneurysm servants of the Emperor would get.
