Changing Our Legion's Name

Hey Guys,
I have a 1000 point battle against Nids in a local tournament and am slightly worried
I only have finite amount of models and am using Dante, Sanguinary Guard, 2 10 man assault Squads and a Baal Pred.
He can use fricking anything from the codex.
Any ideas on how to deal with him?
Thanks.

With Dante and the Sanguinary Guard at 1K, frankly, you're not going to have enough models on the table if he builds his list correctly. Dante is just bad.
So, yeah, you need to game for both MCs and the horde aspect. Maybe get some attack bikes and put flamers in the ASM? Coughing up 225 pts at 1K for HQ with a codex full of overcosted units is not a good start.

I had BA and my mate had nids so i've had this match before
I have to be honest brother, this is oe of the worst nid lists i've ever seen i'm afraid, the best you could do would be to flamestorm cannon on the pred, bubble wrap it with assault squad and have it do as much leg work as you possibly can, pray you get furious charge with the sang guard and try and use them to take down any MCs he has that could smash it, str 5 on t6 is much better odds than str 4 on t6
You have a huge task ahead of you my freind, good luck

Yeah i am proper struggling here boys. It was an army i through together from a painting project and things like that so i wouldnt be able to change anything in or out. Which sssuuuuuucks.
Flamers are on the ASM's. But yeah Dante and SG are just a liability.

With expensive BA you can't afford to put almost half of your points in 6 guys. Especially when fighting horde army.
So drop them.
Best thing I can say is to use Baal Preds or Razorbakcs with TLHF. Let them come at you and if possible, make them charge trough terrain. Don't overlook Tac marines, put Flamers and Power Weapons in Assault squads and good luck! (You'll need it)

Seems like you're in a bind model wise. If you're absolutely stuck with that list, hold Dante and the Sanguinary Guard back to deep-strike so that they a) will live for the first couple of turns and b) can come down scatter-free in a position where there's less immediate threat. It may be worth keeping them entirely out of the way to go for late-game objective grabbing.
Otherwise, keep your Assault squads together and don't let them get picked off individually.
The Baal Predator can be extremely powerful against Nids *BUT* watch out for MCs targetting it in order to get rid of it quickly. Use its Scout and Fast rules to try and keep it away from them.
If you can swap anything out - proxies, if your opponent will let you? - go for a Librarian. In particular, the S10 Blood Angel power combined with a force weapon may be useful for taking out MCs if he doesn't get squished first. A second Baal would go a long way, as would a Whirlwind which can stay out of line of sight.

I disagree with deep striking. The unit is too expensive to risk it in reserves for too long and you forfeit the ability to assault the turn you need it to. Use your speed to take on the tyranid list piece meal. Your army is small enough to stack a flank and mobile enough to reposition dramatically away from anything super dangerous. Use the Baal to set up your assaults and keep as much of your army together as possible. Avoiding MCs should be easy at this low point cost (I doubt he has more than three) and spread objectives throughout the table to make the Nid player spread out.

That COULD work, if you could block line of sight enough. Honestly it's more to counteract Tyranid firepower... there'll be enough shots to force save rolls of 1 sooner or later. The less time they spend on the board the better they'll fare against that.
Of course, if you're lucky enough to get them stuck into combats they'll win over the course of two turns whilst being far enough away from counter-charges... not likely, though.

Its less about blocking LOS and more about massing. The BA force as a whole is much more mobile than the tyranids and tyranid firepower is generally short ranged (almost exclusively 24 inches and less). Use the superior range of the predator and the mobility of your 26 jumppackers to pick and choose your battles.

Ok i have been on the scrounge for replacement models for the SG and Dante. The problem being is that i built this army themed on pre heresy, so everything is FW and tied it together, so to wack in lots of new models is, aside from being very expensive, is also slightly corrosive on my hobby sould. I dont really want to see a GW Baal Pred next to my FW Deimos Pred trying to be the same thing. You get points in this tournament for painting and theme, so, i losing is worth it to keep those points.
But i do see everyones points.
My opponent is a grade A ball ache, and is just as likely to use a Flyrant, Tervigon and Trygon as he is to use a Warrior Prime and Swarms. So its very tricky to see what he is going to do.
If i were to take out the SG and Dante. Wack in, just for theme, probably a Captain, and another squad, what would people suggest, or SP's for FNP?
Or Dreads? What would people think?

Look. The Tyranids have competitive solo builds. The BA don't.. I don't know what else to say about this. You are gonna need some hot dice to win this, because you can't win in army construction.

Against Nids, you play like this:
-Take out Tyrants first. Grounding checks are your friend if you can assault him from multiple fronts.
-Next, go after Tervigons. Just force as many wounds as possible, he'll start rolling 1's and 2's from enough bolters.
-After that, take out any remaining Synapse bugs.
-Try to keep from getting tarpitted by Gants. You don't want 100pts of gants taking your 300pt unit out of the game for 2-3 turns.
-Against Doom, don't clump your units together. Once he drops, suck it up for a turn, then either ID him with str8 guns, or book it out of 12" range. (The Doom is sloooow). Remember he comes in with Drop Pod rules. Dont leave a perfect pod sized hole for him to drop into.
Once synapse is gone, the army falls apart quick. So, in a 1000 pt game you should only have to kill 2-3 monsters, albeit tough ones, and he will struggle.
With an elite army, I would prolly try to flank him. Make sure your units can support each other. It may be beneficial to send a distraction out to the other side in order to stretch his synapse web to the brink.
Try to keep objectives spread out and far back if possible. Nids can suffer mobility problems.
Lastly, have fun bug hunting!
