Sorry folks, as I do have a question in which I maybe able to answer with the codex which I DONT yet have... I understand most ICs in CSM must issue challenges (in my case Im running Typhus who im guessing must and a chaos sorcerer who maybe doesnt have to). IF I run Typhus and the Sorcerer in the same squad, can I issue a challenge with the Sorcerer and then leave typhus to fight the rest of the squad when the enemy only has a single character model in the opposing unit (Im thinking of when I face wraiths and a destroyer/shackle lord - can I force the sorcerer into combat with the mind shackle destroyer lord leaving typhus to hit squad)?

What if I run a CSM Lord and Typhus, who i think both have that must challenge rule?

Yes, this works. When you get the Codex you'll see the little explanation as to how to work it under the Champion of Chaos rule.
The only thing to bear in mind is that not every character in the book has the CoC rule (99% do, but some exceptions. Looking at you Daemon Prince!).

You don't challenge with a specific model, you just issue the challenge and then when it is accepted you pick the character of yours that will fight.

If you for example had a Space Marine character in a guard blob and I charged you with Lucius and some noise marines. I'd challenge and let the noise marine champion do the challenge as lucius can do far more damage to the squad.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

Incorrect, when you declare a challenge you nominate one of your characters (Page 64, "Issuing a Challenge" Second Para). You don't get to decide who your opponent accepts with and he knows who is your challengee before deciding whether to accept.

And, just to add on because I had been playing this wrong, if your opponent refuses, YOU get to pick which one of his characters has to sit out.

This is correct.

If he has more than one character in the unit of course.
