Hey guys,

Does anyone know where to find alphanumeric stencils for 28mm scale? I'm looking for something I could use to airbush in pilot names under cockpits, vehicle numbers, and squad numbers on infantry. The smallest I've seen are 1" and 0.5" tall stencils, which are incredibly big for my purposes.

You will probably have to either freehand them, go with etched brass or custom print some transfers.

Times like this are where the technical pens come in really handy.

I'm against having to go with etched brass as they leave the surface raised as opposed to sitting flush like a real paintjob would. Transfers were my last alternative, but I can't imagine custom-printing so many and then doing the transfers themselves. Technical pens (that, I might add, I do use) are very difficult to get the same consistency of font and writing, unfortunately.

I didn't mean to imply that any of them were perfect, easy or quick, but they are the reality of your options.

You can lay out the pen work with a sharp pencil to make more consistent lettering.

I'm certainly no expert on the topic, but I've read that with access to a high quality printer and decal paper any custom transfers you wish to design can come out really nice. Considering it myself later for some vehicles. Check it out
