Just been reading the fluff for Necron Immortals. It says they are capable of issuing orders to Warriors to improve efficiency. So I thought would it not make sense to give the option for an Immortal as a Sergeant equivalent for Warriors? And then I thought why stop there? So you could have Lords for Lychguard, a +1BS upgrade guy for Deathmarks/Immortals, just general stuff that could tie down HQs in a challenge.

Would it work/make sense? All opinions welcome, thanks in advance.

It's not a terrible idea, but that's kinda the reason the Court exists.

True, very true, but if you had the sergeant option you get the upgrade withou having to pay for the court or you can keep them together to guard your overlord

And they'd just be Marines with better guns. *shrug*

And a worse Sv if warriors, and far less wargear options in both cases. MEQs are so versatile that in many ways they're better (cc, anti-heavy infantry to name a couple) even if they die more times and don't all have buffed up weapons like the crons, and they're a shade cheaper than immortals.

It's a valid point though, thanks for mentioning it.

But all that accomplishes is making the Necrons more generic. As-is they have the options you want and your idea is therefor probably not needed.

Necrons are so much more versatile than their lack of wargear options would indicate, though. They can kill infantry, they can kill tanks, and they can hold their own in CC against GEqs.

Besides, Warriors don't have a worse save than their C:SM equivalent. They have exactly the same save as Scouts, and every other stat except I is the same or higher too.
