Because this thread is kind of a mess, just to confirm, the new Apoc templates are different than the old ones, and we still don't know anything about D weapons, is that correct?

What about D weapons do you need to know, if its are they still in Apoc then the answer appears to be yes as on the battle report page with the picture of all the Dark Angels models it does mention taking 3 Predator Annihilators and if all their lascannons hit they fire as D weapons instead, but if its to know if they auto penetrate etc then that has not been mentioned so far but more than likely has remained the same.

It's the ignore cover save part about D weapons I'm most curious of. That, combined with their usual very large blast markers, means they used to remove entire units at a time.

OMG... I was going to mostly write this release off with exception to the terrain, but OMG... That case... I must have to have that case. Someone help me, I think I need an intervention.

Is it bad that I don't actually want to use the case I just want to decorate my game room with it?

Great, I finally got a nice looking Eldar Aegis Defense Line accomplished and now I have to build to a Firestorm Redoubt too!(I mean, who can say 'No' to that AA ability for anti-AV12!?).

I was already excited because I love Apoc, now I'm excited about this release just from what it can bring to average 40k games and accessories. That Gamers Edition Bag is AMAZING.

It really wouldn't be that big of a problem. Just open the case for them, or at least when it passes through the xray machine they'll see models, not bombs.

Yeah. I'm just curious about the dimensions though. Some airlines are nitpicky about the dimensions of your carry-on.

Dont most airlines just say it has to fit in the overhead cargo area? I cant imagine this being bigger than that. You should be fine Id think.

I sincerely doubt it. I'm getting my info from the picture caption two pages back that shows the case. It's got the pick and pluck equivalent (in vehicle foam) of 12 normal GW foam inserts... It says two "army cases" in the description and the "army cases" are the double sized ones. While you could check that in, you'll never be able to reliably get it as carryon in this day and age as it definitely won't fit in a carry on guide they usually have at US TSA checkpoints. They may occasionally not notice the size and it will likely technically fit but I wouldn't count on it. I've got a piece of suit luggage that I know fits on every major commercial jet overhead (took it on at least two dozen flights) a decade ago but they always use that excuse now to disallow it (and it is technically too big).

See above. You may be able to slip it on occasionally if they don't notice but 12 pieces of GW foam don't fit in the carryon guide present in most US airports. A single small GW case would but that thing is supposedly equal in capacity to four of them.

I was under the impression that those could be brought on as carry-on. I guess I'll need to go measure the both and check with TSA guidelines. Hm.

I wonder if GW then built the new case to be able to withstand abuse from check-in?

I'd love to get the card datasheets, but not at the $250 buy-in.

I'm thinking a lot of folks are going to be buying and splitting the various collector/gamer editions just from the posts over the last few pages. A lot of folks want just the case or just the cards, etc.

Laughs, me too. Well, will have to check out the terrain after release, might be something there - not completely impressed at this point, though.

I'm looking forward to the sprue and weapon layout of the new terrain. Add in that the terrain seems pretty nice on it's own and new rules to mix things up more and I'm sold

I'd never check a model case alone, that'd be expensive and unsafe. I'd pack it inside my regular luggage.

Kinda OT and something you might want to take to Tournament Discussions. The folks over there probably have a lot of good advice.

My suggestion would be to go substance over style for anything that you want to protect your army when flying. The GW case is not that.
