Is there any para list that doesn't require and integrated Mortar and Rifle/MG teams for the combat platoons. I just bought Open Fire and the Parachute Rifle Company. I want to remove to Mortars and MG stands and make a Mortar Platoon and a Machine-Gun Platoon. That would give me 3 Rifle Platoons with Rifle Teams, a Mortar Platoon and a Machine-Gun Platoon.

In Nuts the Paras can replace the R/MG teams with Rifle teams.

You can also try the Glider Rifle platoon which has rifle teams and separate machinegun teams.

If you use the GR list in the new Market Garden book, then the mortars can be separated out into a platoon by themselves under the 2iC.

Late war glider troops wore the same uniform as the Paras.

Okay Kool thank you. I guess sometimes ill run a Para list and sometimes a Glider list depending on what I'm up against. I also got the Easy company box to buff up a para list.

If later you want to make a Rifle /mg platoons the BAr gunner counts as athe squad mg.but you are still stuck with having to include the mortat team.

So I got the para company in the mail today. It's got 6 .30 cal MGs and 6 BAR's. it says I can make 18 Rifle/MG teams. If the BAR counts as an MG that's 12 stands with 1 MG each. Does it not matter if the other 6 only have Rifles?

Rifle/MG is mostly represented by having a 1:1 ratio of stands with MG's and stands with just rifles.

BARs are not LMGs. They are 'invisible' for US troops and count as nothing more then a rifleman.

The way BF does it, a US squad with R/MGs has one stand of 4 riflemen, and 1 stand with 1 .30cal team and 2 riflemen for 4 figures total.

If you mount a .30cal LMG with 3 figures total it becomes a LMG gun team with RoF5.

Why are they invisible? They were a squad Light Machinegun. Same ammunition and rate of fire as the M1919 but magazine instead of belt fed.

Look at the US basic rifle platoon. It has BARs but they are not R/MGs or LMGs. BARs are not, and never have been, LMGs. They do not have the sustained fire capability of a belt fed 30MG.

US702 Rifle Platoon
Contains: 1 Officer, 3 NCOs,3 BAR gunners, 1 bazooka team (2 miniatures), 31 riflemen, 2 small and 9 medium bases.

US doctrine counted the BAR was equivalent to 5 riflemen with Garands (80rpm). That is, at best, equal to a rifle team in FoW.

Kenny:
US727 Parachute Rifle Platoon (Winter)
Includes one Command Rifle/MG team, one Bazooka team, six Rifle/MG teams (with Rifle team options), one M2 60mm mortar team, ten Medium four-hole bases, one Small three-hole base & one Small two-hole bases.

Winter Paras come with 30cals. I'm not sure what you are shouting/talking about. It looks like it has extra figures to build rifles teams instead though.

Does the company mortars rule apply to support units? ie if I have a para rifle platoon in support of two glider rifle platoons does the 2iC get all three 60mm mortars for just the two from the glider platoons?

Just the ones from the Glider Rifles IIRC. I don't have the MG books, so I'm just going off memory from when I read it.

I'll look when I get home, don't have the book in front of me.

*It does say Platoon Mortars come form Glider Rifle Platoons, so no mortar from the Para plt.
