Tom, seeing that done up...I want one. Lol. Where did you get the basing stuff, and how did you make the character sheet look so nice? That's great. Also, I'm packing your A-Wing up now, and RITides, since you're in here, your stuff is getting packed up too, then off to the post office.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Well, we'll see how/if it is actually a viable in game component, first test will be throwing an equal points of ties against it to see how it fares, then see how that goes with rebel escorts, then test the torpedo runs...

I think it may have to be on the full double wide board, I don't think a 3x3 is suitable for a 16x7" base lol!

Tom, question on the Corvette's card. In the upgrade bar you have 3x Gunners and 2x Missiles, wouldn't it take up less space to just have the icons listed out like a normal card?
Also you have some spelling mistakes Though, I think for clarity I might suggest some changes for it?

CR90 Corvette - Reference Card:
This card explains the rules for a CR90 Corvette and serves as a reference to remind players of its effect(s).

General: When this ship has 5 Hull or less, hits are automatically change to critical hits.
This ship displaces objects in its path.
Activation Phase: During your Perform Action step, you may perform 2 Actions.
Combat Phase: Missile and Torpedo attacks made against this ship have 2x Attack and Defense dice.

I think the addition of a Reference card would then allow you to create pilot abilities for the actual pilot instead of having everything about the ship be on the card.

I would also suggest adding something about it not being allowed to benefit from Swarm Tactics... Nothing says ouch like 6 or 8 Attack Dice coming at you at Pilot Skill 9 .

Hey Alf -

It's 3X crew then 2X missiles, torpedoes AND astromechs, so see how I coulda run out of space

Where are the spelling mistakes! Need to fix!

Good point on the swarm tactics front too, there will be many exceptions like this, hard to wrap your head around it all at this early stage. Remember, these cards and rules are just a first part of playtesting, believe me, in no way represent final!

I think your idea of a seperate ref card/sheet, perhaps slightly modified to a warship or XL ship instead of being CR90 specific, is going to be a great idea, there are simply too many things to keep track of on a single small card.

Still haven't had the chance to play this yet, hopefully this weekend!

Your spelling mistakes would be taken care of by my reference card , but you have "Diplaces obstacles.." You have an extra period and you're missing an "s" in displaces.

Gak, I missed the "Immune to Ion"

Also as to the ship upgrades, I think the 3X and 2X take up the place of 2 icons each, so you'd have the space, but you're much more graphically inclined than I am, though on a second look it seems you made the right call . Werds are mah thang.

Though I think the idea of watching that lumbering behemoth move forward at the beginning of combat to simply fire first would be hilarious .

I don't own too much in the way of upgrade cards, but I'd be interested to see how some of the combinations could be done.

Can you explain (in case I missed it) the 6 and 8 numbers?

The ship has technically 6 TB turrets, 2 on each side of single barrel variety, in a broadside type configuration, and then the more visible large double barrel variety with the 360 arc.

So, basically there are 4 seperate firing profiles, the 2 fixed arc left and right banks of 2 single barrel turrets, plus the 2 360 double barrels.

The 2 360 double barrels have a profile of 3 attacks, which can be fired at seperate targets, or, together at one for a total of 6. The broadsides have to be fired together at 2 turrets per side, with an attack value of 4. These do not stack as their firing arcs do not overlap at all. The 360 turrets however could add their weight to any target therefore making for a theoretical possibility of hitting a single ship with 10 dice (12 if range 1).

The forward arc is for the missiles and torpedoes, and the rear arc is only covered by the the 360 turrets, making it the best angle to attack the ship from.

Now, it is a devastating amount of firepower, but the expense, going last and only being able to elect 4 targets at most per turn mean that an equivalent point tie swarm should still have a good shot at bringing it down... that is the theory anyways.

Did you ever get a chance to playtest this?

Not yet, I played quite a bit not this past weekend but the one before, but it was more training a friend, though I did get to test out several HSF lists vs several Imperial mixes (Tie Swarm Kills HSF).

It will happen one of these days!

Han, while awesome, seems like he's too many points. I also feel that unless you have a very specific role for the YT in mind, it would do better navigating the outer parts of the board firing at anything and everything it can with its turret gun.

I disagree, I have found him tremendously effective, against a list of 5-6 ties, he is murderous, especially flow right into the middle of a clump, causing collisions and lost actions... tanky enough to last. But 8 ties is simply too overwhelming statistically shots fired vs defense rolls both ways. You need more firepower then. The thing about Han though, with gunner and marksmanship, it's almost a guaranteed kill a turn at range 1, it's not quick, but it is reliable. If you fly your escorts properly, my preference being 2 x-wings or an x-wing and prototype a-wing assault missile, then you can do a pretty respectable amount of damage in the first 2 turns, and thinning the herd right away is key.

I guess it's all in the support then. I played against a Han and Luke combo, and then I played with Mithel, Dark Curse, and Vader, was like 20 points lower and still won without losing a ship.

Luck and flying come into it too.. but ya, that is simply too few shots per turn, no matter how good you are if you ask me...

Agreed, I like to have about 3.5 ships when running Rebels. Basically, if I drop a few things, I can afford a rookie pilot and not care, because my Rookies tend to do okay . But like my last list was 2 X-Wings and a Y-Wing, though if I had had a chance to build and control the list instead of just 1 X and the Y, it might have lasted longer than 2 turns... Such are the problems of the FLGS gamer

You can do 5 Green Squad with 5 points left over. I've tried to make the A Swarm work but haven't had much luck with it. Problem with the A-Wing is that needs to do as much damage as possible with their missile strike so they don't have to work so hard to mop up the remains with their 2 attack dice.
