Does anybody know what the 'this product expected to dispatch within four weeks' on GWs site means? It is on the majority of the Inquisitor and Necromunda stock. Is it actually available and they are casting to order? Or is it actually out of stock and the site just not being updated?? (some stuff has gone from the site - mostly BFG)

Anyone ordered and recieved a Necro gang or anything recently?

Apparently they are getting rid of the specialist games section and collectors ranges.

I picked up 2 gangs a month back with no hassle.

Yeah, sorry i phrased that quite badly. What i meant was in light of GWs decision to get rid of SG. So are they casting to order? Or does the site just need updating and they really are out of stock? Was gonna grab me some Eschers.

Would call them up to find out but oddly enough GW customer services are closed on saturdays.....

They are out of stock but I was told that GW will cast up the last batches to fill these outstanding orders. Whatever it is, If you want it,, order it quick before they pull it.

I am having the same thing going on with my Epic orders. From what I understand from speaking with customer service, they are shifting their stock around in order to fulfill orders. In my case, since I am in the U.S., I am waiting on them to receive my Chaos Horde sprues from the UK.

I don't believe that they are casting anything to order. Merely shifting product around to meet demand. I could be wrong about this, however.

But yeah, whatever you want, get it now because things are literally going out of stock day by day.

The stuff that is still up on the site seems to be dispatched fine fine. I ordered some Cawdor booster packs and they arrived within 3 days.

I waited 3 weeks for some BFG Eldar ships. Had a few conversations with customer service and the gist of it is that if you can order it (it has the "add to cart" button) then they will fulfill these orders.

It was explained to me like this:

They have 3x Widget A left in the warehouse, therefore the add to cart button is available.
They take orders for 6x Widget A.
Add to cart button is then removed from the site so no more orders can be placed.
They will cast up the extra 3 Widgets required.
May have to wait up to 28 days for these orders to ship.

Looks like they don't have a live stock level system, but in this case it is to our advantage.

WABTY

So, things that no longer appear on the webpage, are no longer avaliable? Forever?

It would be a great shame, since I was going to finally try out BFG, with DE, and I got surprised their models are no longer present at the webpage.

Also, what does 'GW's decision to get rid of specialist games' mean? Are they really going to erase them from existence? That would be a really bizarre decision on their part, even knowing GW...

Yes.

DE cruiser is still available from Australian webpage, but of course that comes with wacky Australian prices...

IN and Chaos can still build viable fleets from available models. I ordered some IN models last week, they were dispatched within few days, despite "four weeks..." warning on the site.

Yes. Some might return later in some form.

Aw c'mon Well, I hope they do with BFG the same they did with Space Hulk and Blood Bowl: releasing a new version and even videogames of them...
I guess that won't stop BFG players for playing their game, of course. But now that I wanted those ships... :(

Thank you for the info!

[and sorry OP for sneaking this way into your topic: I was about to make an specific topic but thought yours talked about the same]

I never have played BFG as in being to invested in the other systems. But a BFG video game would be cool.

Played one demo BFG game in a GW store and got slaughtered. Seems like a fun concept though.

Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!

Find similar systems from other companies and support them.

If there is a big enough community, GW will strike back at specialist games. They neglected these systems in the first place since they were raiding their own coffers to offer gaming alternatives to their fans that cost much less to play.

If GW was to be raiding OTHER companies and grabbing their players away to buy new models and play their games, then you very well could see some of these come back. So again, the best thing to do is play other options on the market and ensure the general playerbase for Sports, Fleet, and Campaign Skirmish miniature games is going strong!!
