hey guys, still kinda new to Warmachine, and i thought i'd put a list i've been running for a few games

PStryker -6
-Ironclad 7
-charger 4
ATGM +UA 8
Black 13th 4
Squire 2
Long gunners 6

25 points exactly. my idea is for the iron clad to go up the middle while my charger flanks to either side. my black 13th go up beside my charger for support and the long gunners and gun mages will go the other side of the charger and 13th.

Looks like a pretty good list to start, but I would suggust dropping the long gunners for some melee- ranged just isn't good enough to be all that you rely on, and your ironclad can't do everything.

In-faction, I would suggest a unit od Stormblades- these guys have some pretty good damage output, so could handle tugher targets. Alternately, you could grab swordknights. They are cheaper, so you could walk away with a full unit of 10.

out of faction, Maybe look at a unit of Boomhowlers for a tough tarpit, or Steelhead halbardiers, which will be a bit more numerous, and have reach- allowing them to really congest a large area. Also Horgenhold forge guard, but they are a bit slow.

i'm thinking maybe some swordknights cuz they have the higher pow on there glaives, which could prove useful. thanks for the comment dude

Stormblades are the ones with the high-powered storm glaives.

Swordknights are a cheap melee unit with flank.

I agree with Crazy_Carnifex. I love my ranged Cygnar, but I still must use stormblades and an Avenger to not just die in melee. If you want a full range list you can add storm gunners to your storm knights. They cost a point each, and still have the same powerful melee weapon, but with an awesome lightning gun for added shootyness

woops, hahahaha yeah. i ment stormblades xD lol. i enjoy melee a lot and some shooting which the storm gunners could provide for me. thanks doods

I'd also say to drop the Charger and maybe instead get the Lancer. Charger is too much of a focus hog, and with a Lancer you can sling out Earthquake to knock stuff down or Arcane Blast the random incorporeal model.

What would you suggest he drop to fing those extra two points for a lancer?

I recommend HHFG. They are slow but they hit so freaking hard. It's worth it. Put arcane shield on them (I believe it's not faction only doing this on my phone) with defensive line they are sitting at super high arm.

Use the gun mages as a front line unit with blur. Def 18 is not fair and they will block LOS to the HHFG until they need to get in combat.

Long gunners not in max unit aren't worth their points. If you drop them and the charger and add in min HHFG. You have 5 points left. I think stryker is a single jack caster. He wants to put his upkeeps up and stay in the back.

That being said I don't think the squire is needed with him. If tiff drop the squire and upgrade the ironclad to a defender or ol rowdy you will be better for it. Still leaves 5 points.

I know i just made major changes and that might not fit your style but that's how I would run stryker.

Add Gorman to give the B13th stealth in the open with his smoke bombs. And eEiryss to solo hunt or disrupt jacks.

That really depends on your meta, mine involves a LOT of AOEs, more than it seems is normal from what I read on here and PP's forums. But it is death to ATGM that end up too close, so they wouldn't (don't) work as a front line unit in my area. But everywhere is different

I didn't read all of the posts, but why on earth would you drop the lancer for the charger? Charger is WAY too focus heavy for stryker and the lancer lets you arch node earthquakes like its your job.
