Hey all,

Does anyone know of anywhere I can get decent shotguns (at a decent price) that are usable with GW plastic cadians? I need some for my veterans and I'm hopeless at converting anything.

Cheers,
Ed

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Off the top of my head. =P

Maxi-mini, though they're scaled more realistically than Gamesworkshop's regular weaponary so may appear a little small. Based on modern guns.

Anvil Industry, though these may be marine sized. The pictures of the ARC drones should give an impression of the scale. Futuristic.

Victoria Miniatures (including ones with arms). These are probably the ones most in keeping with the GW weapons scale and quality, plus Vic's bits in general are great for guard models (and she gives away freebies with every order). Based on modern-ish guns.

Anvil Industry! High quality and should make for a perfect fit.

They fit pretty well, I used them because my brother never used the shotguns he got with his scouts (or in a trade or something, I dunno, he had a whole pile).

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

I've got the scout shotguns, the Victoria shotguns and heresy shotguns http://heresyminiatures.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_71&products_id=256.

They are all great options that scale well with IG, and are available relatively easily. It's just a matter of which style you like best.

Not entirely true. GW has long allowed small modded bits on models as long as the main model is GW. Of course now that GW has abandoned most of their tournaments to independent organizers it's even less true.

This thread is full of idiots, why the hell are you reccomending him non gw products? He's going to get banned from all stores if he does that

I say go for the scout shotgun, or just use lasguns because shotguns are only used in special forces units in real life and assault rifles are used by rank and file expednable troopers like the US army while the best army in the world, the russian army, uses shotguns

and the cadian imperial guard, being based on the us army(therefore inferior in everyway), should only use lasguns, in the fluff, shotguns don't even exist because thats too modern for the steampunk/18th century esque warhammer 40k

a dash of politeness might go a long way for you...also a GW store not letting you use non gw parts is hardly getting banned from all stores...

but to the point +1 for anvil, there stuff also exceeds my expectations

I can't speak for your store, but a complete ban on all non GW bits is not official GW policy. Rather, non GW bits are usually tolerated if the figure they are on is GW.

Even if you were right, your tone and choice of words are unacceptable (and has been reported), and there is nothing in the OP's thread stating that he plays at GW stores.

I gave my vets the grenadiers doctrine, so they get carapace armor, and gave them shotguns. This way I could just use the space marine scout models. So I did a few quick head swaps and that was about it! Very fun and cool looking (unless you feel grenadiers isn't the best way to invest your points)

They always have. However, there have always been some reports about GW's with managers who disallow them. Check with your local GW first.

As my products have been mentioned by several people - Id just like to clarify for the OP that for cadian sized models, the appropriate weapons are the ones in the "regiments" section.

A link was given to our "armoury" but the shotgun there is larger and more suitable for marines.

Thanks for the recommendations guys,

Joel
