I met Chemical Cutthroat for some gaming this weekend before I leave the area, and lose my gaming group. D=

Once more, it was my PanO group versus his Haqq Assassin's (300 points each). He managed to forget his drones and Magh at home, so I was lucky in that I didn't have to deal with that. Although, he did bust out two Fiday's and the Fiday character guy whose name I've forgotten.

The board was very close, kinda ideal for CC, and there were no good sniper nests. Much to the detriment of my Nisse sniper. There was also a nice little zig zag alley that set up one of the more exciting exchanges during the match.

I don't have a full list for either of us, but I'll try to lay out what I remember from his units:

Haqq - 300 points
Fiday
Fiday
Al Djabel
Muyib Link Team with rocket launchers
Lasiq with viral sniper rifle
Lasiq with normal viral rifle

PanO - 300 Points
Aquila Guard
Hexas
Nisse with sniper rifle
Nisse with HMG
Bulleteer
Bulleteer
Kamau Hacker
Engineer
Palbots x2^^
Fusiliers x4

^^ Just as a note, I had forgotten to include the fact that I had two Palbots when doing the order pool for the second group. So I ended up playing the game short one order. Not that it mattered.....

I ended up going first, so I had set up my bulleteers to make some quick attacks on Chem's positions. Unfortunately, due to the tight confines of the map I was unable to really bring my Nisse SR into play. I just couldn't get her high enough to get any clear shots without exposing her to return fire. Starting off, I moved one of my Bulleteers up Chem's left flank (this is from my point of view) but it was quickly taken out by the Lasiq with the viral sniper rifle. Then, my Nisse (sporting the HMG) decided that she was going to get melted into a puddle of goo by the viral sniper rifle as well.

The count now is Lasiq 2 - PanO 0.

This would change shortly. Having lost two units, I decided on a run up the middle toward one of the "camo'd" Fidays with my other Bulleteer. It ended the turn half behind a corner, staring the Fiday marker in the face. By this point I was out of orders for the second group. Moving to Chem's right flank, I cautiously (not the movement skill) got my Aquila Guard within sight range of another Fiday. Sadly, the discover checks failed. The AG then moved so he was positioned in cover with a good fire arc.

The first thing Chem did on his turn was to activate the Fiday my Bulleteer was staring at. It happened to be Al Djabel. He then moved into CC with my drone. Unfortunately for Al Djabel, Chem forgot about the Electric Pulse that all drones have. After failing his CC roll, Al Djabel was immobilized. Chem then took his Muyib link team, and launched a rocket into the middle of the Bulleteer/Al Djabel fight. This succeeded in killing both Al Djabel and the drone. He then took the Fiday near my AG and attempted to kill him. But my AG survived the initial assault and shot that Fiday in the face. Chem's final moves that turn were laying down some mines with the Muyib link team.

Chem was still ahead at this point, and I had lost quite a bit of my hitting power.

The best action scene on the table happened in the third turn. Chem had moved his sole remaining Fiday near my main "bunker". My Hexas was around the corner from the Fiday, but I wanted to avoid losing the Hexas to a non-revealed Fiday. Since I had no Bulleteers left for my Palbots, I took the one that was around the corner from the Fiday, and moved the little bot around so that I could attempt to discover the enemy. Amazingly, the little Palbot managed to reveal the Fiday!! I then moved him into CC and immobilized the bastard. At this point I moved my Hexas around the corner, de-camo'd and sprayed the area with the Spitfire. While I was successful in killing the Fiday, the heroic Palbot also got a bullet to the neural cortex.

Across the map, there was some hot and heavy action with AG facing off against the entire Muyib link team. While he managed to down one of the Muyibs twice, a rocket to the face finally ended the valiant defense.

By this point the only heavy hitter I had left was my Hexas. Since my Nisse sniper could not get a clear shot on anything, and I wasn't about to climb down from the second floor of the building she was in. Mostly because my PanO guys have trouble climbing. So much trouble in fact, that they usually fall to their deaths. As a last ditch effort my Engineer attempted to kill one of the link team members but he ended up on the wrong end of a rocket launcher.

In the end, Chem's Hassassin's beat me. But my goal was to remove the three Fiday's from the game, and I was successful. With some creative tactics. =D

Hopefully I can get a couple more games in between I trek cross the country. Sorry if the write up seems a little disjointed.

Sounds like a really fun battle, thanks for the report! You moving away for work? Hopefully you can find some more Infinity gamers, check the Find a Game sticky.

What do you mean with this?

Also, nice report. Pics would have been awesome though. The little Palbots can save your day every now and then (even if their controllers are dumber than their bots...)

Forever a pone.

It didn't matter because I ended up losing the match. As to the picture thing, I realized this morning (while typing that up) that they would have added quite a bit to the report. I might have to do so for the next time I play. And yea, that little Palbot that took out a Fiday definitely saved me. Otherwise I'm sure he would have made mincemeat out of the forces in the area.

Chem is doing good. But I've definitely let him know that he should make an appearance around here.

I'm moving out of the area for family reasons. Luckily my job is allowing me to telework, so I can at least keep getting paid. I'm already scouted out a FLGS near to where I'm going. So I'll have to check it out and see if they have Infinity. I suppose if they don't, they will after I get there.

Zeta, you should let Chem know as well that the Mass Effect crew needs to regroup.

He's asking about your Palbot remark because G:Servant models don't generate Orders, they're activated by the controller's Order.

You know, I just went back and reread the rules regarding the G: Servant......and we (read mostly me) had miss-interpreted them. Looks like I need to take another look at some things.

Thanks for pointing it out. =)

Gheh, that would be good though... three orders @20 points and all three on models which can use the doctor skill
