I play Catachan guard, and I want to know how to represent conscripts in my IG army. I just didn't think these huge musclebound rambo dudes make sense or good in this huge inexperienced blob squad with only BS 2. So what should I do, strip down gear, because they barely have any to begin with. What I was thinking was maybe adding beastmen parts and making them look like mutants. So what would be a good way to model Catachan conscripts?

Another one is penal legion. I was thinking of trying to GS some exploding collars, and then just adding extra knives and guns. What do you think?
Any ideas would help-

Thanks,
Color Sgt. Kell

Well, that could be a problem. If you don't mind having some Cadians in your force, these guys make great conscripts. They are cheaper than buying a box of 10 guys, and they don't look too hard core.

As far as Penal legion goes, Victoria Lamb has some nice conversion bits, which include explosive collars. Check out her site, you'll find what you need. Heck, you may even find suitable conscripts there. Good luck.

I think your could use these http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440023a&prodId=prod10006&rootCatGameStyle= to serve as conscripts. A little green stuff here and there to give them individual character. Or you could use them as penal legion troops. Converting them isn't too bad. I figure they might work.
