Just got an email from them. Copy and pasted direct from the email:

Greetings Ascended,

RIFT® is now Free to Play with no trials, no tricks, no traps. That means a subscription is no longer required to adventure through the vast world of Telara and battle the forces of the planes. From now on, you can log in to your current characters or create new characters without level or content restrictions.

On June 12, your account received bonus Loyalty for all the time you were subscribed to RIFT before our F2P conversion. All characters on your account, current and new, will continue to receive additional benefits including extra bag and bank slots not granted to new Free to Play accounts.

Not sure whether to believe or not. I may go back given it is F2P if true though.

Just because it may seem official doesn't mean it is, I keep getting account banned/locked/under investigation emails for Guild Wars 2 which look official but they ain't.

And this email came out of the blue which made it a bit more suspicious to me.

But yea, least somebody else confirmed it.

I have no idea tbh, it is an odd one though as I would say no given its went F2P but they may very well charge for it as it is extra content.

What's the character generation and graphics like?

From what I can remember they were both pretty decent.

The Rifts looked really nice when they opened and closed. I really can't remember much though as it was the month of release I played which was a fair while back.

Yea from what I can see they game currently sucks... Any characters I have or make become insta coin locked.... I can do next to nothing at this point other than hope Trion gets round to my messages I sent them quickly. Can't even get a new coin lock code as it doesn't arrive in my inbox.
