Title says it all, what is the viability of a daemon monstrous creature list in 6th edition? For example a 1k list would be something like a Greater Daemon w/ 1 lesser and 2 greater rewards (one of the ones with wings preferably), 2 minimum units of Plaguebearers, and 2 Daemon Princes w/ wings,1 lesser and 2 greater rewards each.

They can be very good but they can also be aweful! they suit higher points levels IMO. 1 thirster, 1 LoC then 3 Tz DP Add a heldrake for more flying fun.

But with more skyfire/intecepter being added to the meta a bad match up can be very bad indeed! I have tabled SM turn 3 but also been tabled by tau turn 3!

4th place at WarGamesCon was a flying circus list.. Fateweaver, 2x flying princes, Guo and an allied csm maceprince iirc.

So hell yeah they're viable, just a high skill cap. Hits like a truck though!

Ulthwé Eldar 2.5k points and growing!

Yhea, this guy was clever and used nurgle princes, reason being, is that jink is a 5+, goes to a 3+ with shrouded for being nurgle, and even up to a 2+ cover save, if within 8 inches of the shooter, because defencive grenades give stealth within 8 inches. So flying, biomancy, and a 3/2+ cover? Thats resillient

Well, I battled a similar army in an RTT with my Necrons. He had GUO (deep striking), 3 Nurgle FMCs, and one CMS FMC. It was a bitched battle and all five MCs were in my close to or in my deployment zone in round 2. However, I played for the objectives (with my Warriors and Immortals in the NS), wiped out his troops, and won the game.

I watched a LoC and 1-3 demon princes with a squad of flamers, 2 horrors, 1demonette squad, and like 3 heralds or something wreck an orks face! Though, grots totally took down a prince with overwatch

I, too am considering this list. I have a bloodthirster and 3 winged demon princes sitting around just begging to be painted ... or ebayed.
