you ever had one of those nights were you're trying to put something together and it's just not going the way you want it? glue just doesn't want to set, and when it does it takes half your finger tips with it. Parts aren't lining up. I some how managed to lose a set of legs. Legs. How do you do that? Of course being hard headed doesn't help. So now I have some kroot that look like Helen Keller made them. Poor Wiggum, poor, poor Wiggum.

Been there done that more than a few times.

I find that if it starts happening I just stand up and walk away now.

Heck I have had times where I have sat down to paint, gotten everything ready, looked at it and went "nope I'm done."

My last off night resulted in 13 cuts to my thumbs and fingers. I stopped when the last one didn't stop bleeding for 10 minutes and the old lady gave me *the look*.

Obliterated an ork buggy do to an off night. Thought I was on my way to converting it, ended up just cutting it into 4 pieces in some strange tangent of hobby knife madness.

Already had some nights like that. In my case it wasn't related to building but I just couldn't paint anything well, I would lose control of the brush, the colours wouldn't look good together, the paint looked too thick, overall it was a combination of disasters that made me go *table flip mad* and quit for some days.

I accidently glued on the legs of my wraithknight the wrong way round - still I don't think it makes a huge difference.

Yeah get them now and then, usually its painting, I find that if its not feeling enjoyable right now then put down the brush, clean it out and do something else. Come back to it another time... When things arent going right its not going to be your best work, and (for me atleast) we spend plenty enough on these little men and they deserve painting to the best of my ability... or atleast not sloppy I don't really play the game...(lack of people i know to play against and time to go about doing it tbh) I just paint and collect so i suppose im not itching to get it on the table or anything like that.

edit; just last week I was making good progress on a squad of swooping hawks, and then i went too far, had to strip the lot, and begin again. It was a bit disheartening and i didnt start them again untill today.

Yeah, sometimes it just seems the pieces are greased beyond belief, and the superglue has turned to water.

Most recently, painting my TWC, it's like everything I've learned, and all my technique went out the window. Despite having a clear picture in my head, I just couldn't make it work. At least it only took a second go at it to get it right. Patience is definitely a virtue. I also find it helpful, and difficult, to take a break, and come back with fresh eyes and whatnot.

This was just the most recent case for me. I once melted a Guardsman using the wrong spray paint to primer which led to me making my son watch Toy Story with me just so I could watch the melted soldier reshape like a T1000 hoping that my model would do the same.

The trick is recognizing it immediately and doing something else, rather than powering through it and ending up stripping it later.

I've got a sweet spot of around 4 beers for painting when I would otherwise rather not, it helps me get in the zone and steadies my hand for fine detail, but (especially on fridays) it's easy to skip the mark a bit and end up too groovy to get much of anything done with any degree of accuracy.

I get this when building multi part rank and file.

You can field an army made up of riptides and broadsides? Right?
