This the first Eldar list I have ever made. Be gentle.

This is from the new Codex : Eldar. I don't have the Iyanden supplement, but if anyone does and notices that I'm making a glaring error please tell me.

HQ :

Spiritseer (70 pts)

Troops :

20 Guardians + 2 Star Cannons (220 pts)
5 Wraithguard (Wraithcannons) & Wave Serpent + TL Bright Lances (280 points)
5 Wraithguard (Wraithcannons) & Wave Serpent + TL Bright Lances (280 points)
5 Wraithguard (Wraithcannons) & Wave Serpent + TL Bright Lances (280 points)

Fast Attack :

Crimson Hunter + 2x Bright Lances (160 points)

Heavy Support :

WraithLord + Ghostglaive, 2xStarcannons (165 points)
WraithLord + Ghostglaive, 2xStarcannons (165 points)
WraithLord + Ghostglaive, 2xStarcannons (165 points)

Fortification :

Aegis Defense Line (50 points)

Total = 1835

Spiritseer joins the guardians and sit behind the ADL. Crimsion Hunter is there to produce air superiority. Wave serpents make an AV12 wall, push forward quickly and drop off the Wraithguard. Wraith lords advance behind the wave serpents and support the wraithguard. First priority for wraithguard will be monstrous creatures (distort weaopns), second priority will be any TEQ. Wraithlords llike to shoot and smash troops, but only after any monster hunters are dealt with.

Here's a $ price for this army based on GW MSRP.

1 Spiritseer ($19.25)
2 boxes of Guardians ($72.50)
3 boxes of Wraithguard ($150.00)
3 Wave Serpents ($138.50)
1 Crimson Hunter ($65.00)
3 Wraithlords ($138.75)

Add about $40 for magnets, basing material and stuff to scratch build an Eldar ADL, and the total is around $624.00. Not bad actually. An 1850 space marine army will cost about twice that.

I've read scatter/starcannon WL's are best.

Do you mean one of each? One scatterlaser and one starcannon? I guess that makes sense. The scatter laser rolls more dice but the starcannon is AP3.

Hordes will give you some issues, but you are VERY good at dealing with armor and TEQ...that's for sure.

But Ork blobs would give this army some issues.

I had noticed that too. I was thinking about upgrading to D-scythes for template + wall of death shenanigans, but I don't think that would fix the issue. Do you have a suggestion?

Ok...Here's the update. Removed some brightlances in favor of scatter lasers for better horde control.

I know the theme here is iyanden/wraith, but fire prisms will probably be more point efficient than wraithlords, esp for the large blast against any horde army (IG blobs, orks?)

I've been thinking about lists along this same vein.

The wraithguard units I've been considering bring wave serpents with the cannon on the bottom and holo fields (for 300pts each instead of your 280)

Some D-scythe upgrades would help wall out some hordes, I would recommend trying to fit at least one squad with the upgrade so you can somewhat control the battlefield.

Costs 50 points per unit, so I'd need to lose something. What would that be? Maybe drop one wave serpent? Or some guardians?

Also...how do you model the D-Scythes? Do they look like the wraithcannon?
