Hey guys, I've been really looking forward to building up an IG blitzkreig army (mechanized infantry moving up the board, with heavy firepower supporting), so I made a 750 point list.

HQ:
CCS - 125
- 4 Grenade Launchers
- Chimera

Troops:
Veterans - 155
- 3 Meltaguns
- Chimera

Veterans - 155
- 3 Meltaguns
- Chimera

Heavy Support:
LRBT - 150

Medusa Siege Cannon - 135

Total: 720

I've been thinking of how to spend the last 30 points, but I'm really to sure, so suggestions would be great. One option I thought of would be giving the LRBT HB sponsons and a heavy stubbier. They'll be snap firing but including the hull HB, they'll be firing 12 shots.
Tell me what you guys think!

Lets try to not make more chaos gods, ok guys?
I'd call this thread a trainwreck, but trainwrecks are legitimately horrifying to watch. This is hilarious.

Well with a blitzkrieg list you are better off without russes. Why because the chimeras are faster and the russes will be left behind unguarded.

upgrade the chimera turrets to autocannons at +5pts a pop!

if a dolphin will jump out of water for fish, just imagine what it would do for chips?

^ can you do that? Sounds like an older edition or something

Left over points, give the CCS something more worthwhile than GLs, plasma guns.

The medusa seems a bit random for the style seeing as its meant to be speed and its artillery and all. A devil dog has the whole melta tank thing going as well, even though not as well as a medusa. On that note though I thought chimeras were normally a more defensive tactic as you sort of just sit there and pillbox. They're not hugely durable so I cant seem them blasting up the board and lasting. I don't feel the LRBT brings much either so I would loose it for another chimera unit.

If your attack is going too well, you have walked into an ambush

The easy way is always mined

Ok i could try giving the CCS meltaguns or plasma guns, but I think I should clarify my use of the term blitzkreig. I want the chimeras to move forward and shoot, while the heavy support sits back and suppresses retaliation. That's what I'm trying to do in this list, advancing mechanized infantry, with enough support to blow holes in the enemy. I agree that the medusa was unfluffy addition to the list, but if you thonk about it, it's mobile artillery, or basically a big gun on wheels. For fluff purposes i could say that it's mobile enough to follow and support the advancing lines. Can someone explain to me why a LRBT isn't fluffy for a mechanized advance? I understand that it's slow, but surely it's more fluffy to use than the artillery. Also is it better to run a barebones LRBT or one with sponsons?

Russes are fine, its just that regular one's are not that great. Get a demolisher instead if you want the templates.
