With a couple stipulations. I want to run a Bloodthirster and I want to run plague bearers as troops. Unless you folks think daemonetts or pink horrors would be better...

I think that a blood thirster w/ plague bearers is a good combo.

Perhaps consider a defence line with Autocannon.

I know tyranid can't man the quad gun, can daemons?

I don't think daemons have the same restrictions.if they do, Bloodletters having a 5 BS is supper pointless. Actually, any lesser daemons having any BS would be pointless.

I have seen defence lines used w/ AC on a number of battle reports if that helps to form an opinion.

It might not fit the fluff but it makes for a competitive game.

Grel777, is right, I have been usibg 10 blood letters to man a quad gun on a adl. The BS5 is funny. Since they are fearless, they can not gtg. However, since they are assailt units, most enemies hesitate to charge through cover anyways. This allows you a turn to perhaps abandon the adl and charge them if the enemy is 12". If they are smart, they would gun you down 24" away.

Daemons are no longer Fearless. You should read the new codex (which came out in February!) My Daemons G2G whenever they feel like it.

As to the OP's list idea...

I came up with this list a while back, but haven't the models or money to do it. I'd be interested to see how it performs, though.

2x Bloodthirster w/Greater
2x LoC w/Lesser
4x 10 Plaguebearers
3x Khorne DP w/Wings

Total 1980. Add a Greater to a DP, or maybe drop a Lesser to gain the Grimoire?

Oops, my bad.

Btw, I think you should ally csm to get a heldrake since they are so gud. U already have 2 and the csm needed.

I get that you want to run a Bloodthirster cause its big and badass (which it is) but I find the best flying circus list is LoC + Fateweaver and 3 Tzeentch DP's (pink horrors or plaggies for troops). With str 8 melee they do great in assault and with the staff blowing up and flickering flame they can take down hordes. Plus rerolling storm table is huge, and fateweavers reroll per player turn can save you from a failed grounding test or failed grimoire roll.

If your playing a larger game throw in a Heldrake + cultists for allies (with cheap sorc or DP with mace).

If you want competitive, that's the way to go IMO.
