Haven't been playing for I while, so was wondering on how much anti tank do you field in a list? Just list your anti tank weaponry for your list.

All of my friends love mech. Right now in my Grenadierkompanie at 1,780 I've got 4 Panzerfausts, 2 Panzerschrecks, 6 PaK40s, 2 88mm guns with extra crew, and 3 Panthers.

I primarily play MW and usually run a 1500 point list, so this is probably going to be bit lighter than everyone playing LW, but I usually I run with 2 PaK38s, and 3 Panzer IV F2s (the long-barreled 7.5 ones).

I also usually bring 2 8-Rads, which only have 2cm guns with AT 5 so I don't really consider them an AT asset, but they can bust up light armored vehicles pretty easily. Sometimes I run with 2 Panzer IV F2s and 2 Panzer IV F1s (the short-barreled ones) to get a fourth tank in the Panzer platoon, but it just depends on how I'm feeling.

I also usually have at least 4 Panzerknacker teams amongst my Panzergrenadier platoon command teams and company command/2iC teams.

If I bumped it to 1780 I'd probably take either another PaK38 or two, or a fourth Panzer IV F2.

In my mid-war Bersaglieri list I have; 2 Lancia da 90/53s, 2 Semovente 75/18s, 6 47/32 guns (within my infantry companies), and 2 Solothurn anti-tank rifles.

My infantry companies are also armed with Passaglia bombs (anti-tank 3 instead of 2) and my artillery, 4 100/17 howitzers and 4 75/27 guns, are effective direct-firing against tanks when needed.

my LW volksgrenadiers have 15 panzerfausts, 5 panzerschreks, 3 pak40's 3 pak 50's

my LW brit paras have 7 6pdrs and 5 PIATS

Practically all your teams will have SOME anti-tank capability, even if it is very minor, but as I use a mid-war Italian army like General Seric my anti tank capability is much the same. All infantry are armed with Passaglia bombs (improvised TA 3 rather than 2), 4 100/17 howitzers and 4 75/27 guns (the latter are better at being at guns than artillery frankly) Separate battery of 4 47/32 guns )rather than inbuilt in the infantry companies) and a platoon of pioneer gustatori (TA 4, not improvised, plus a couple of man handled flamethrowers)

The amount of anti tank weapons, and their power, depends on what kind of list that you are building.

Infantry lists by and large can make do with man packed or infantry anti tank weapons (panzershreks, pioneers etc) while armour lists will need something that can reliably crack Tigers.

For example my Finnish infantry list has:
2 panzershrek teams,
10 panzerfaust teams (7 of which are in 1 platoon)
a full pioneer platoon
I also have weapons that are used for other purposes but can be used as anti tank if I really need to (4 T-26s, 122mm arillery and heavy mortars)

Tanks just bounce off this list.

1780? Whats that? we play 2000pts or above. A game that small does not get us away from are ngging wives that long.We usually play for 6 to 9 hours session.

1780 seems to be the new standard value for (at least mid-war) tournaments.

Oh, is 1780 the standard for MW now too? I was thinking it was the standard for LW, but I'm probably behind the times a bit at this point.

If that's the new MW standard though, that's fine with me. It'll be all the easier to fit my third Panzergrenadier platoon in. I'm looking forward to giving that a try next time I get a game in.

I LOVE my 7 Tigers and 2 Jagdpanthers, efficiency be damned they just look the business. That said, I never leave home without my 3x 7.5cmPaK40's, and they usually net me the best results.

Also as many FV PzFaust wielding SS crazies as I can cram into my list.

I do not do the tournament scene.Never have never will.Now if i could find one that would let me smoke cigars,drink beer and cuss with no rulebook lawyers or tournament sharks (you know the ones,their entire life consists of building ubber lists then cry foul when they start to lose) I may eventually play in one.

We usually play 1750. In my LW paras 1750 list I alternate: 8 6pdrs, or 4 6drs and 2 17pdrs, then 4 pack howitzers to make sure the enemy armor spaces out to limit its own ability to concentrate fire and then a ton of PIATs scattered throughout my squads. On rare occasions I will replace a unit of guns with tanks if I am playing the Normandy lists so that the armor support is also fearless vets.

We're all still starting around here, so we generally go 1000 points, but a lot of us like our mechanized Panzergrenadiers or tank companies, so my 101st Airborne come packing 6 Bazookas and 2 M1 57mm AT guns.

They've been enough so far. But I don't face too many tanks just yet.

Antitank dakka in fow? I am afraid that is an copypasted 40k measurement that doesn't apply in fow. Usually, players don't open fire in this game unless they are pretty sure to kill something because it really hurts when once the oppoent gets to shoot back. Unless you are sitting in a king tiger or something but then I would hardly call the volume of fire from king tigers "dakka".

For any Army in the 1500-2000 pt range you will want to have at least 2 dedicated AT platoons at a minimum.

Basically for Germans you will want at least 1ea 3-4 gun pak 40 platoon and at least 1ea 3-5 tank tank platoons with AT 11 or better.

Basically my typical rule is 2-3 platoons with at least AT 10+ in any list I build.

In my Nuts list i generally runSix,minus the Artillery.

This is going to seem like a stupid question, but why is 1780 points a thing? Why not 1750 or 1800?

I strongly suspect that someone influential wanted to use a particular list in a major tournament that cost 1780 points. He obviusly got his way and it seems to have become the standard points value.

Personally I would much prefer a 'normal' value, my lists tend to be 1750.

My understanding is that the tournament points each year are semi-random.

Basically they go okay for LW we are gonna go 1700 + random amount.

That way each year the point total changes and people can do slight adjustments so they arent always playing the same list.

Thus more sales for the company as well...as each year people have to make slight adjustments to their lists, add/remove platoons.

1780 - Well that looks like classic scale / Scope creep.

The old points of 1750 was settled on as halfway between 1500 - 2000 pts.

1780 pts will probably be 1800pts in 12 months...Nuts...

My LW strelkovy list uses the following. 3 ISU-122s 5 T34/85s and in a pinch, my 4 3.7s AA shoot at light/unarmored vehicles (mostly because only one or two need to really be used as AA in the first place).

Every year Battlefront run a series of tournaments they call the Nationals. The points levels for these tournaments changes every year (It used to not change as I understand it, before I started playing) and each period has a different point level.

A lot of big annual, but non-battlefront run tournaments will copy the National's points levels, so it will trickle down into the wider FoW community because even if a given player might not care one bit about tournament play, he is probably in a group with people that do and those people will want to play at the point level the local tournaments use.

This year the points levels for Mid-War and Late-War were 1675 and 1780 respectively. In the past they were far lower and from what I've heard (from guys who know guys so they must be on the up and up) the points level will be going down drastically for the next round of nationals.

In my MW Bersag List I run a platoon of Semovente 75/18's and a battery of 88/56 Heavy AA guns. I also use a battery of 75/27's for light arty and direct-fire AT support.

In my Alpini list, it's a platoon of 47/32's and a battery of PaK 97/38's and two platoons of the 65/17 mountain guns.

For my LW Germans, it's either two platoons of PaK 40's or a mix of PaK 40's and armor support. Sometimes I also add some cheap tank-hunters like Marders.
