With a little skill and some plasticard you should be able to make both a standard M5 and a Jalopy from a single sprue of these.

As I see it you'll need some spare crew, a .50 cal MG and something to make the hull bottom out of.

I'm well tempted to start a force from the Czech Armoured PDF when Cromwells come out.

I am too, I believe he's got some staff now, and it seems to be showing with his output increasing as he's not trying to do everything.

Waiting on my ZVEZDA moderns from PSC at the moment.

The Stuarts look great, but too late for me as I painted up FiB. The Cromwells are definitely going on my shopping list.

Funny thing is, after my club has gone Batty for Bolt-Action stuff, one of our trend Setters picked up a Copy of Battlegroup Kursk.....Seems to be gaining Ground down here in Wales. Give it 12 months and we'll probably have 15 or so playing it.

I have 3 trend setters in the Club, and if they adopt it so does everyone else, if they avoid it so does everyone else. X-wing did well, Drop zone Commander Bombed......You just cannot tell what will sell and what won't be popular in our region.

Sprue pic for the Cromwells now up. I'm spruised that the option to build a Challenger is missing but there you go.

The Challenger had much bigger hull and different turret, so having essentially a different but similar looking model on the sprue might have been pushing it a bit.

This looks like a sweet kit but do I need more Cromwells.........Of course I do!

So...I go out....I buy a £120 worth of Army from BF, all lovely and nice, just to get my hands on Cromwells and I do them nice, and put 11th armoured on them....

Then Will goes and releases this.......Story of my life....

Also can some put these PSC ones next to a BF one....I might be able to make a Complete Battalion of Cromwells! (Wouldn't that be great...Move over Tom Wise!)

Just done some googling and you are right. For some reason I always assumed it was the different gun on the same hull.

Anyway I've just found out that I'm going to BattlegroupSouth show at Bovington Tank Museum next weekend so I'll be picking up a couple of boxes first day

Yeah, they had an extra pair of wheels and a longer hull.

Inspite of of this, the Yellow Bridge Weight Circle is the same? Not sure how this works with a heavier Gun, a bigger hull, a bigger turret.

Unless of course, the turret is tissue paper thin?

I could be wrong , but I thought the bridge weight was the strength of the bridge required to take the vehicle (rounded up.), NOT the actual weight of the vehicle .
Eg a 27 and 29 ton tank would have a 30 bridge weight symbol.

(I am sure some one will correct me if I am wrong.)

But very nice looking kits as always from PSC.

Which BF lists use Cromwells with Fireflys.(I like Cromwells but think the Challengers look a bit ungainly.)

I imagine the list for 7th armoured in Normandy would have that option. Cromwells with Fireflys was what they had at Villers Bocage.

These look great, but I'm most excited by the fact that the tread and suspension assembly come in one bit. I've been struggling with the T-34 box, since the treads are in two strips that need to be glued together, then have the suspension inserted in.

Just put together my 1st PSC stuart. It's a lovely model to assemble. However when I was putting it together I was struck by how much larger it seemed than other Stuart tanks I'd assembled. So I had a rummage through my cases and found a Battlefront M5A1. Here they are next to each other.

Not an inconsiderable size difference there. The Battlefront one is considerably smaller.

The exact measurements are as follows:

PSC
Height 25mm (to top of turret)
Length 49mm (not including stowage at rear)
Width 23mm

Battlefront
Height 23mm
Length 45mm
Width 20mm

According to Wikipedia the dimensions of the Stuart tank are as follows:

Height 2.29 m
Length 4.33 m
Width 2.47 m

So it looks like Battlefront is more accurate in terms of height and length and PSC more accurate in terms of width.

Something to bare in mind if you are planning on mixing PSC with Battlefront in the same platoon!

Hmm....It's rare that both BF and PSC are off, and are usually spot on....

It's very interesting because I was considering buying more PSC Stuarts, I think I will continue with BF Stuarts. And thanks to your previous stuff on Cromwells, I'll offset the cost using PSC Cromwells for my Armour.

If you buy Stuarts they appear in most british armour lists (Stuart IV or Jalopy) as weapon platoon recce.
Or you can buy 3 Universal carriers as (brigade support ) Scout/ Recce.(I prefer these as I remeber to use them as recon, not tanks!)

AFAIK most Brit armour lists run Shermans OR Cromwells (with Firefly/Challenger support...)

But if you want to run Armoured and Armoured Recc you can buy lots of Cromwells anyway!(The PSC ones look super cool IMO.)

That is odd with the differences in size. I need to get two full platoons of Stuarts, should I just get the battlefront ones because they are more accurate in size, or does that little difference not matter with the PSC ones?

I understand that the Stuarts are sculpted by a different company to the normal source for PSC stuff. I wonder if there will be teething problems as they adapt over the next few releases as it seems you have indicated with these models compared to the usual high standards for PSC kits.
