Since supplements are apparently going to be a thing now, thought it would be interesting to see what supplements everybody thinks or hopes that their army will get, and how those supplements might play. Go wild with speculation.
For the SoB, a Valorous Heart supplement would be interesting. That Order is really into repentias, so a supplement for them would probably buff repentias somehow (letting them take transports would be pretty sweet), making a repentia-centered army more viable.

Iron Hands need something. I'd be happy with a single character..but if we're wishing a supplement would be cool!
We'll see how they are handled in the new codex i suppose!

I'd like to see a Harlequins and an exodites supplement for Eldar.
Maybe a corsairs supplement that could be used with either the Eldar or Dark Eldar codex.
For DE, a cult and a coven one would be good with the main codex kabal centred.
For orks, all the main clans would be great.
And supplements for each of the chaos gods.

For Dark Eldar, I'd like to see something that lets me take a Reaver based force. Basically not a single model with its feet on the ground.
Could also be fun to have a force based on the old Archons kabal Archon Malixian?) from the Dark Eldar series of BL books - loadsa scourges, custom transports, everything airborne

these are what I'd love to see:
Imperial Fists for Marines
Alaitoc or Yme-Loc craftworlds for Eldar(don't like the rest of them fluff-wise).
Tanith for Imperial Guard
Something with non-mental fanboi fluff for Necrons so they make sense
Ork Freebooters
Tau Demiurg
|
Farseer Faenyin
7,100 pts Yme-Loc Eldar(Apoc Included) / 5,700 pts (Non-Apoc)
Record for 6th Edition- Eldar: 25-4-2
Record for 7th Edition -
Eldar: 0-0-0 (Yes, I feel it is that bad)
Battlefleet Gothic: 2,750 pts of Craftworld Eldar
X-wing(Focusing on Imperials): CR90, 6 TIE Fighters, 4 TIE Interceptors, TIE Bomber, TIE Advanced, 4 X-wings, 3 A-wings, 3 B-wings, Y-wing, Z-95
Battletech: Battlion and Command Lance of 3025 Mechs(painted as 21st Rim Worlds) |

I think they should bring back something like the old "Chapter Approved" rules back in 3rd edition. Each new WD that came out discussed the history of a space marine legion (chaos included) and other races' unique armies and then gave special rules for each of them. Nothing crazy like a codex's worth of info, but unique rules for each group that gave more flavor to some armies.

For Necrons, I'd like to see the Dark Harvest list become truly sanctioned as a GW supplement. It's a pretty good FW list but having it as an official supplement would be nice.

I think the suppliment should be more involved. If the eldar one is anything to go by they are to basic. I wanna see limits as well as extras to really shape your army. I run world eaters with allied daemons and would love to see a legions of khorne suppliment that has things like:
all units that can have marks must have MoK
No units with MoT MoN or MoS can be taken
Champions can re roll chaos boon table
Some new cool daemon weapons perhaps
Some synergy between daemons of khorne and MoK units like if within 6" they get to re roll charge or something

Goddman, the SoB players here can be cynical sometimes. Don't suppose I can blame them for that, though.
Anyway, I did say "hopes" in the OP. Don't let anything silly like reality hold you back, you can just say whatever you would personally like to have, if you want.

Codex: Armoured Fist.
An Imperial Guard supplement focusing on the more mechanised parts of the Guard - mechanised infantry units, tank companies, bike/rough rider units etc.
Codex: Regiments of the Guard
Another IG supplement but focusing on individual regiments, such as the Mordian Iron Guard, Tallarn Desert Raiders, Praetorians, Catachan Jungle Fighters etc, so you can build lists based around a particular type of regiment & their strengths (and weaknesses!).

A supplement for each of the 4 chaos gods with their troop legions and preferred daemons, and a supplement for the Sons of Dorn. I'll be happy with that. Also, I don't think it's too tall an order. Of course, having not played a game of 40k in over a year...

I've heard about a supplement for tyranids, that they will be getting a genestealer cult supplement possibly something akin the recent GW tourny rules we saw at Warhammer World.

Note to the reader: my username is not arrogance. No, my name is taken from the most excellent of commanders: Lord Castellan Creed, of the Imperial Guar- I mean Astra Militarum - who has a special rule known only as "Tactical Genius"... Although nowhere near as awesome as before, it now allows some cool stuff for the Guar- Astra Militarum - player. FEAR ME AND MY TWO WARLORD TRAITS. |

Chaos space marine legion supplements would be awesome.
It would be GWs opportunity to give us 40k legion rules without having to squeeze it all into a single codex.
A few unique rules/wargear options and a FOC shuffle can go a long way.

I don't want to see each Ork Klan have a supplement, as that would defeat the purpose of a main codex!
Also, a massive WAAAAGH! isn't comprised of a single Klan, but all of them causing their unique forms of mayhem.
The most feasible Ork supplement would be a Grot book, allowing for an all-grot army. However, that would probably require a redesigned Grot Box to allow for weapon variations/upgrades.

I'd like a supplement that gives more options to portray your Sisters as profesisonal soldiers-- getting rid of Repentia and replacing them with some kind of disciplined shock troop for example. Could be a supplement for the Ebon Chalice even, whom I would imagine uphold themselves to greater disciplinary standards due to their links to Alicia Dominica.

I agree, an Archon Malixian force would be great, though I'm not sure if one Mad Archon is enough to make a supplement out of. As a big fan of Hellions and Reavers, I'd like to see a gang-themed one, perhaps elaborating on the Baron's Crusade.
I'd also love a Goffs and Death Korps of Krieg supplement for two of my other armies. The Iyanden supplement already covers my fourth.
I'm actually really happy with the fluff in the books, I'd likely buy any of them just for the fluff, given that they aren't Marines who I find boring.

Of course if we around going to say the fluff and pictures are useless there is only ever about maybe 20-30 pages of actual rules in a normal codex. Why would a supplement codex be any different
