Just curious about who does. I was thinking of starting to ask my opponent if we can use them.

If you use them, do you only do so if you both have fliers? Or do you always consider them in effect?

I just use a updated version of the white dwarf Else.. a friend of mine plays the custom games at times, but not into normal games.

I don't, and now that you mention it...I haven't seen or heard of people using that book since the initial crapfest that was it's launch.

With the exception of the addition of the Stormraven to Codex Space Marine armies and both Marine Flyers to the Black Templars, Death From the Skies provided precisely nothing extra to the game that you wouldn't already get from your Codex plus the FAQs (and the extra fighter ace section, which now I think about it is probably what you're asking about, but I've had a drinkie or four and be damned if I'm deleting all this text). Yes, it's an 'official' supplement, so technically it's always in effect, but like I say, it's nothing your FAQs don't already do for you...

You also have the specific maneuvers, such as Razorwings testing on an ability to get bladevanes. It also has dog fighting if there are multiple aircraft.

Isn't that just a rock-paper-sizzors event?

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Yep. The dogfight "rules" are incredibly lazy garbage that someone threw together on their lunch break. Nobody should ever use them.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I use it all the time; I stick it under one of my table legs so it balances the board.

I remember starting the thread about everyone's opinions on DFTS

O...M...G.

no one even bought that heretical book on that thread, and 150 people posted. honestly I couldn't find a single positive post. its an extremely hated GW product - I'm surprised people use it, and if you did, its probably cos you spent 20 quid on the book.

Well I mostly got it for the Dakkajet rules. I don't think most of the additional rules are that great, but I do like the maneuvers for the aircraft.

I do agree the dog-fighting rules seem a bit odd.

I don't think it even has rules for the Heldrake in it. Also it makes the GK Stormraven (maybe the BA one too) pay for the upgrades it already should have.

I make bad decisions and think they are good.
