Like the title says, running a chaos list

Squad of Plague Marines
Big Blob of CSM
Huron
Sorcerer either in Termy army or Jetpack MoT
Heldrake (2?)
Havocs, Forgefiend, or Oblits depending on points

So I'm torn either grabbing some Tau allies mostly fire warriors maybe a hammerhead or battlesuits?
Or
Blob of IG and a bunch of tanks

Leaning towards the tanks but I'm trying to keep the list around 2000

What say you dakka?

Imperial guard would be my choice. At least you can use them as fodder

Given the options imperial guard would put more scoring bodies on the table, synergize better and be fluffier.

Honestly though tzeentch daemons are the obvious choice. Twin link your stuff, str6 shooty troops, big monsters and cheap walking tanks.

I would say go korne dogs with a korne herald for some good harras/pressure while you have your marine army supporting with ranged fire power.

I'd go with armored IG if you find yourself bringing Chaos armor as well.

A squadron of two Leman Russ would be fairly cheap depending on type.

IG may be good, but remember you can't cast psychic spells on non-battle brother allies. Using Tzeentch might be tricky.

well if the chaos list is shooty, add some balance and get some orks. Nob Bikers.

Or, just get a warboss in a trukk w/ some boyz and use the elite slot to max out some loota squads. 48" range. d3 s7 ap4 shots.
