Bonjour,

I'm looking for, you guessed it, alternative models to the standard mono pose GW finecast trash that's available, so far I've looked at VC Crypt Horrors, Skaven Rat Ogres, and Paulson Games Bio Terror (though it doesn't seem to be on their site any more). All of these are strong contenders, though I want to see everything that's available before making a purchase.

Do you guys know of any others that could be good stand ins?

Thanks,

Ogres from the Warhammer range can be turned into Insane Cancers from Silent Hill pretty easily with green stuff (I'm using them as Plague Ogryns). Add some tesla coils and choppy claws and you may have something suitable?

However it would depend on the physique you were looking for. =/

Personally I would go with Forgeworld Renegade Ogryns. They are big boys with re-breathers and vials on their back.

That place is the harsh dark future far left with only war left.

Crypt horrors with the masked head from a Talos would be a good bet imo.

Maybe snip off some of the bone clubs and add some talos claws instead?

Those are very neat, and would look excellent in a clean dark eldar army. They seem a little too well proportioned for the concept art of a grotesque, but who's to say your haemonculus doesn't have a more reasonable aesthetic right?

Hmm. The price is dandy. So it looks like they come pre-painted? That makes me wonder what kind of material they are made of? Has anyone put some paint on those yet? Seems like they'd be ripe for conversion (though aren't bad stock).

Lord, is it just that the confrontation stuff is cheap, or is it that site (never used it before). Interesting anyway.

I have. Parts of them are hard ABS plastic and parts of them are bendy cheapo plastic you find on things like Heroclix figs. Though they are really just the weapons, which come right off. They're not glued on at all.

Incidentally I really need to finish painting them.

Hmm thats good to hear. I figured they would have at least some cheap bendy parts at that price point( again not sure if its the make or the seller, still), but with some talos bits, they would probably fit right in with the darkies. I shall bank this information for later, I have a couple three thousand points of shelved darkies... who knows.

Thanks.

@ Wyrmalla - that's an interesting idea, I'll look in to that, I hadn't thought of Ogres...

@ jullevi - I would, though I have some of these guys in my CSM army so wouldn't want to use the same models

@ rohansoldier - that's my thinking

@ AG - those are absolutely stunning do you have any info on the figures used?

@ azreal13 - pm incoming! Thanks

@ lord_blackfang - those look very interesting, and at that price point.... how does the build quality compare to GW?

@ Squigsquasher - I know them very well, that's a thread I've been watching for many a moon. Whilst I may end up doing some Rat Ogres, I want my guys to be as unique as possible...

Those are originally Warspears from Warmachine/Hordes.

This link has some more pictures along with some info on what he did. Pretty cool stuff.
