Just picked up the SoB twin WD issues off of EBay. Is there some kind of protector I can put them in so I can still use them but keep them from bending, ripping, and getting damaged?

I recommend slipping it between the pages of a Witch Hunters book. Both because it's better, and you're only wanting the point-costs/stats anyway.

I'd cut the pages out and laminate them, then put them in a binder.

there are a few shortcuts that librarians such as myself use when covering books. You can get some of the clear sticky shelf liners they sell at Target to use as a cover. Theres also the really nice stuff you can get from DemCo, but that stuff is expensive! Here are some nice directions for you right here

Now this will ruin any collectors value for it, but it will give you sturdiest book ever, Additionally what i would suggest is to glue or card stock or a very thick piece of paper/cardboard to your outer covers (just behind the front covers will do) so that it will be stiff. If you have that kind of support your book "guts" will not be harmed as all crunching or crushing will happen to the outer cover first.

NOW, if you really dont care about money and you want them to last, you can actually have them professionally bound! it will cost you between 20-30 possibly, and there probably wont be cover art, but you will get yourself a hard core book cover. Most areas of the country have some sort of book bindery business within 100 miles or so, unless you live waaaaay out in the boonies. If you have trouble finding one, contact your local library or your high school library to figure out who they go to for rebinds (high school textbooks are their number one rebind, and a personal bane to me).

I would suggest you practice this first one a few novels and maybe a throw away magazine first, as it will take you a few tries at first. I do this about a dozen or so times a week so its pretty easy for me, just dont try it on your SoB white dwarf until you are 100%......or just con a librarian into doing it for you.

Many office supply stores (Staples, f'rex) can bind a book for you. Again, it ruins collector's value, but they can even bind it into a hardcover if you want.

I got mine Cut and laminated, And put into 3 Ring binder, got some color paper and chose my own from cover. here is mine. The last pages are page protecters for updating FAQ's, total cost was 21$ 19 for thick laminate and binding cutting, 2$ for the 3 ring binder, I had it done at office max or staples, either one

This is probably the best bet for preserving the "codex". I wouldn't worry too much about ruining collectors value.... I see people trying to offload years of whitedwarf magazines for practically free to a good home.

on the forum. Obviously

Scan it. It will be immortalized in bytes

Speaking of scanning, what is the stance on scanning something and bringing the scanned pages to a game to act as a reference? I'm really getting tired of flipping through the BrB all the time to look for that damn warlord table.
