Hey guys, as you can see from the title I'll be working on all things Chaos. For now it's just the Marine side whilst I build up my army (I've got a legal army painted, just aiming for painting up 750 points currently), however I do plan on getting some Daemon in at some point, especially the Plague Drones. I've been playing 40k for a few years now, however took a break of about 2-3 years, and decided to start back up with Chaos when the Dark Vengeance box set back in September, however have only recently actually started painting properly again. For the most part I'll be doing infantry and monstrous creatures, partly due to my dislike of painting vehicles, and also the fact I used to use Orks many moons ago, so I prefer just running forward with no need to cower within tanks for protection (who needs that when cultists offer just as much, but are cheaper and more numerous ). I will be writing up some fluff for the army eventually, but for now they're just a random chaos warband.

Anyhow, here are the pictures of the army so far, hope it's not too bad (I am by no means the best painter, and I just aim to get them done to a relative quality saving the real time for the more important models).

Here's an army shot of everything so far:

A shot of the cultists, will be adding to them eventually (also need to replace some lost arms :s ):

My only Chaos marine unit so far, it's still currently in progress, need to paint up the two plasma gunners and the Aspiring Champion (the guy with the power fist leads my army in 500 point games, and will probably reappear in 1500+ games)

My Spawns which I'm not yet fielding and so far serve as models for the Boon table (god forbid I get such luck D
http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/512784-Chaos%20Space%20Marines%2C%20Chaos%20Spawns%20of%20Nurgle.html

My Heldrake, of which I never want to have to paint one again (although I kinda have too as I'm running a second come 1500 :( ). Reason for the plain base is that I do plan to have the top of a building on there, but don't currently have to parts to do so.

Lastly, but not least, is my Huron Blackheart count-as. He will have his own name and backstory eventually. Whole reason he came about is I don't like finecast (due to that I'm trying to field an all plastic army), so my friend Afrodactyl made him for me out of spare parts I had, but the paint job is mine (possibly not a good thing ). He's appearing in my 750 point list I'm working towards, and every list thereafter as my warlord - woo for guaranteed infiltration :3

Hopefully it's not been too much of an eyesore. I do have a Daemon Prince, a Helbrute, Bikers and more Marines (as said above) on the way, so hopefully they shouldn't take too long. This is the list I'm currently working towards if anyone was curious:

HQ- Huron Blackheart

Troops-10 Chaos Space Marines w/ 2 plasma guns and a power weapon (maul)
Troops-10 Cultists w/ flamer

Eilte: Helbrute

Fast Attack:3 Bikersw/ melta bomb, Veteran of the Long War
Fast Attack: Heldrake w/ baleflamer

Total points 748.

That'll be if for the opening post, sorry it's been so long, and hope to hear from people soon. Bye for now

Not yet, gonna do my 750 points first so I can start playing relatively sized games. Tomorrow I should have the rest of my Marine squad comepleted, and hopefully some progress shots of my Deamon Prince and Helbrute.

I also plan on making some Objective markers, not sure what these shall consist of yet but I should have at least one done relatively soon.

You can go for ammo dumps, comm relays and VIPs as generic ones, or warp portals and chaos shrines as something chaos specific.

I do love the paintjob you gave Huron, but I think the smokestacks on his pack could do with a slightly brighter highlight to make them pop.

If you're looking for some excellent fluff, have you read the Imperial Armour volumes 5,6 and 7 on the Vraks Campaign? Charts the gradual corruption over years of besieged cultists and who slowly attract the attention of more powerful chaos denziens... like moths to a light...

But yeah the list looks good, plenty of pain for 750pts.

And I'm copying the others, excellent Huron model.

I'm probably going to try get something more Chaos specific, possibly make some from any armies I tend to fight a lot, such as SilentEcho's Dark Eldar (go check out her blog, she's just started but she's definantly got promise considering where her painting is at the moment).

It doesn't show very well, but I've painted the inside of the skulls eyes and the vents red and yellow to simulate to fire burning, and the smoke is a touch brighter in life.

I haven't read any of the Imperial Armours D: I really should get around to reading them... I'll check 5-7 out first though, thanks for the recommendation

Haha, thanks As I said, the model itself was made by Afrodactyl, I had nothing to do with it other than supply the means to build it xD

I'm about to get started on the rest of the Marine squad, should have it all done by tonight, as well as have made a start on the Helbrute (the Deamon Prince is completed bar loincloth and skin as I'm waiting for the right paints).

Love the look of the heldrake, can't wait to see what you do for the base, although have you thought about possibly modding him to have blood dripping out of his mouth/off his claws, with the remains of an enemy laying on top of or amongst the buildings ruins? Just a little extra to make him look even more terrifying and battle worn.

I like the blood splatter effect on the spawn, and the Huron model is looking great, paint job and all

Looking forward to seeing the rest of your planned armies, subbed:3

Thank you I think my biggest flaw is I rush the models and don't really take much time into actually getting the painting decent looking, more worrying about getting it painted so it's not just a black lump on the table haha. I like the idea for the Heldrake... may have to try it out

The splatter effect so far has only worked on the one Spawn, tried it on Huron's axe and power fist, and nothing came of it xD I've got lists for Chaos up until 1500, and from there I'm either going to ally some Demons, or just start trying to Apocalypse-ise (if that's even a term) it into a full Chaos Warband. I do also plan on returning to Orks at some point... :3

So, finally managed to get the pictures up of my finished Marine squad. Fluff wise, I've been thinking about possibly doing the left to die thing, however due to Tyranid's messing with the relay systems and what-not, attacking the home world of my Renegades. Here are the pictures:

Here's on of the new Marine's by themselves:

And the group shot:

Hopefully should start working on the Helbrute soon, focusing on getting a job mostly so bare with me

Haha will do, I've got a rough idea and will start typing up a rough outline of it For a quick update, I've started work on the Helbrute and it's base, will be getting on with the Deamon Prince once I get the base for his skin (plan on painting him like in a similar way to the left Spawn in my picture), and Bikes will be started work on once I've done some modelling to them (SilentEcho will be painting that unit, so should be interesting )

So, I've mostly painted my Helbrute, just gotta finish his base and pictures will be uploaded, as well as a picture of my 500 point army I've now got.

I've come up with an issue though, which is I'm currently out of Chaos stuff to paint up, until I get the paint I need for my Deamon Prince. I don't want to start up my 2nd Heldrake yet, I plan on painting him closer to the time in which I'll be able to use him. Because of this, I may make this a mixed blog, bringing in an army from the past, and working on the fluff more which I'll post up when I post my army pic later tonight.

Thanks, glad someone likes it haha.

Before I take and upload the pictures for today, here's some fluff for you. Hope you enjoy

Revenge. That was all that was on their minds now. Left for dead by the Imperium, left to rot on their home planet whilst the Tyranids invaded. Apparently their sector wasn't of much importance, and there was not enough there to warrant the costs and risk the lives of thousands, no, millions, to save a practically barren and dead sector. Now few in number, the remains of the Zyycon's Sword, named so after their home world Zyycon VI, wander the barren wastelands of the Warp in their lone cruiser. So few, that only a handful survived. After hundreds of years, they've become adapt to attacking only the points which would hinder the Imperium most, and leaving little trace behind. Their leader, their Lord, Scion Tranduit, has become a master tactician, being able to take on defenses which far outway their offensive capabilities with ease, after all there is always a weak point. Even amongst the so called mighty Imperium, even amongst the Space Marines.

It was Scion who last gave up hope, and was yet the first to turn to the Chaos God's ever watching eye. Just as his last men, his brothers, were about to finally be overtaken after what seemed like a lifetime of conflict against the Devourer, that he swore his allegiance to any God who was listening. Any willing to offer their helping hand. It was at such time in which Nurgle, the Grandfather, heard and reacted. Warp portals opened all around the remaining defenders, with infinite swarms of Nurgle's deamons marching forth, combating the Tyranids, giving hope yet again to those few left.

After, it was only a matter of time before the Tyranid Hive Mind recalled it's minions, leaving the planet, but not the system. They continued to devour the Zyycon system with ease, all but Zyycon VI. Scion thanked Nurgle, and swore his unwavering allegiance to him, yet Nurgle was not so ready as to bestow upon them his gifts. They would need to prove their worth, to prove that their lives were worth saving, that his gifts were worth bestowing. In a final act towards Scion, his world was sucked into the Warp, were it has remained ever since.

Now they wander, seeking revenge against those who turned their back on them. Scion in particular thirsted for the time in which Nurgle would deem him worthy, and bestow upon him the power he craves, the power to wreck havoc unto the Imperium, to steal the homeworlds from those like his nearly was.

So I managed to get some pictures of my finished Helbrute, and finally of my first 500 point block fully painted and based. Sorry in advance for picture quality, I can't take pictures very well, and suck at lighting xD Photography is alien to me...

First up, the Helbrute:

Secondly, my 500 point block - but first, some more fluff

Several hundred years after abandoning the Emperor and embracing Chaos, this small and somewhat unheard of warband had started to finally breaking out of it's comfort zone. Scion had grown tired of only being able to launch small, direct assaults on the Imperium, and hungered for more... for more blood... Nurgle has watched Scion closely, smiling after each assault proved more and more that he was right to save this pitiful life. He spoke to Scion, telling him to return to his homeworld in the Warp, from which he had not returned properly since he ventured to cast his revenge - going back merely as a resting place if anything ever went wrong, which was a rarity.

He returned, and as he stepped onto the soil of Zyycon VI, he was greeted by an enraged roar. Something... inhumane. He gathered a few of his closest brethren and raced to where the sound had birthed. He found, both to his dismay and to his gratitude, that one of the Dreadnoughts of which had been wrecked far beyond repair, had arisen. Nurgle had rewarded him with a small token, to show he had not forgotten him like the Emperor had, a Helbrute.

It took an hour to finally calm and tame the deamonic engine, to finally guide him onto the ship. Scion stayed on the soil a moment longer than needed, to whisper a small thanks to the Grandfather. The Grandfather whispered back, so silently that even the enhanced hearing of the Chaos Lord struggled to hear. At each planet of which he landed from here on, a small band of Cultists would be waiting to do their new masters bidding. Scion smirked, the idea of a living shield to help maintain the lives of what few brothers he had left entered and danced in his plotting mind. These tokens were small, but Scion knew that it was the start of something wonderful, that he'd finally started to show his worth.

So, after that bit of unnecessary fluff, here's the picture haha. I'll post the army list underneath, and will hopefully be back with some more updates soon (even if it is just me writing more fluff xD)

HQ:
Scion Tranduit (Huron Blackheart count as)-160

Troop:
10 Chaos Space Marines, 2 Plasma guns, power weapon- 185

10 Cultists, flamer- 55

Elite:
Helbrute- 100

So your master tactician is a Huron count-as? Nice one

They all look pretty good so far and don't have the usual "Nurgle" look of rot and pus and green slime all over them but more of an ancient and rusty look. Any ideas for a symbol yet?

Haha, for the moment it may be useless fluff as I seem to have run out of stuff to paint momentarily D: SilentEcho warned me I'd run out if I continued at the speed I was at... Bah, I hate playing against Guard, especially seeing as I wrack up about 500+ depending on amount of upgrades, and there's 3000 of you xD

So far fluff wise they've not been gifted by Nurgle yet, they're battling to gain it. However, the ancient and rusty look is more to having had to same armour over most of their life, not wanting to clean or change it as it show their age and experiences (think beards with drawfs xD ). I do have a symbol, in fact it's on all of my models I've posted haha. It's not very clear in the pictures though, and the only one you can see it clearish is the Helbrute (right shoulder panel from the viewers perspective). It's a yellow 'Z', with bone-white triangles inside the Z to make a rough square. This was made before the fluff and naming, so whilst it doesn't look like a sword at least there's the Z there for Zyycon

Overall I'll try and find something to keep me busy, my heads been overflowing with stuff I could write about the Zyycon system as a whole, and in particular Zyycon VI. There's also a slight twist with the main battle to be revealed, as not all is what it seems

Aha! Now that you mentioned it I managed to spot it on Scion's shoulder!

It looks cool and different from the usual Usually it's always something more "symbolic", not a letter

Yeah, main reason it's like it is is due to that fact I've not got a steady hand, and this is really easy to replicate over and over again. Out of curiosity, what's people views on the fluff? If people aren't interested in it I'll just try and stick more to the painting and modelling side of things (with bat reps eventually ), however if people like the fluff then I'll continue to write up fluff for the army and it's background (I plan to fluff up pretty much all friendly bat reps).

Haha, need to get mah greens first, and I've been thinking that I may give them their own blog once this one has some meat to it, and I've got the means to manage to keep to blogs up at once. But, they MAY feature in this at some point. Chaos and Orks are unpredictable forces, not something you can second guess

And Scion is his first name. I suppose if he has a title it would be Lord, seeing as he's effectively a supped up Chaos Lord xD

Hey guys, sorry I haven't really painted anything, not got much to paint. However, I've decided to try something, may work may not but either way painting updates will be had I've also decided not to bother writing list until I'm about to play a game or I know I've got one that day because I never stick to the damn thing...

I've also been doing some research on Space Marine Chapters and such, not realising how much was needed to create a fluff Chapter (let alone a renegade one!) so for now, I'm just fluffing up Scion a bit more, as well as my only Chaos Space Marine unit xD The Heldrake will get some fluff when time's right Again, if you don't want the fluff just say and I'll stop, I know it's meant to be a P&M blog haha. Anyway here goes, hopefully you guys haven't forgotten about me, let me know what you think and if there's anything about the Chapter specifically you'd like me to dwell on fluff wise if you're interested

Lord Scion Tranduit, a cunning and precise tactician. Although he left the Emperor's gaze some time ago, he has not yet fully succumbed to the recklessness of Chaos. Some say he has yet to fully give up on the Emperor, silently hoping that his Saviour will once again prove he is the true path to take. Those that say such things within earshot of Scion, however, soon find themselves unable to spread such lies anymore. The lucky few just find themself without a tongue, the majority without a head. For he still feels compassion and caring, but not for the Imperium. It is for his fellow Brothers, those of which he took the reigns of leadership after their Company Captain was slain in the battle for Zyycon VI, those are the reasons he has yet to succumb, for it was for they he truly went against the False God in the first place.

First and formost, his most loyal subject, is the Aspiring Champion Plustio Heralth. They have known each other since the very beginning of their lives as Space Marines, being together since they were but Acolytes. Plustio is his right hand man, and his most trusty Champion - for there is yet to be a time where Plustio has not proven himself, nor there a time where he has doubted his Lord. Although it may seem like Scion is not giving Plustio the recognition he deserves, leading a mere unit of Marines, little do they know the paths and rewards Scion has in store for him. Little do they know the importance of which he will soon hold. He will hold the key... the key to victory.
