Me too, most of them should probably come from a shared pool. All I'm suggesting here is possibly a specific one for each class that play to a given class's role. I feel it'd add some depth and make each class more distinct and characterful.
Melissia wrote:If they don't, it'll probably end up "don't pick [x] class, it's AoF sucks".
I would imagine that class-specific AoF would play specifically to that class's battlefield role, so that wouldn't be too much of an issue.

Yes it would, because I could name numerous examples of AoF ideas that could play to any number of class' roles.

Sure, but a class specific AoF would, ideally, just help that class perform its role better. For example, Dominions might have one that increases their running speed, making them better at closing with the enemy and flanking.
You know, now that I'm thinking about it, it's hard coming up with class-specific AoF that don't overlap with the "generic" ones. Obviously it'd be redundant specifically giving Rets something to up their firepower when they have access to a generic AoF that also ups firepower. Unless they're really specific to each class, it seems that these ideas are incompatible.

Which would also be useful for battle sisters (rush up to get in to bolter range), celestians (rush in to melee/bolter range), seraphim (whom are speed based and use pistols), and repentia (rush in to melee).

I admit, I had to chuckle. The message gets across, but the translation from French into English has a couple sections that just sound really funny. No big deal, though; if anything it was more entertaining to read this way.

Dear Crusaders,
ITS NOW TIME TO DO YOUR DUTY.
The Emperium of man needs you for my PAX Prime missions. I need your sharp intellect and your wits to start uncovering the truth. I hope you have entered your Dataslate (phone) mobile number into the BETA signup..... if not you will be very sad. Please add them now if you want to participate to this ARG mission.
Really, if its not a DAKKADAKKA membre that first crack this PAX mission, I will be very disappointed. Lets see if you walk the talk and if you are worthy of the Imperium.
Your Chapter Master for the weekend.

Miguel, I signed up way back at E3, but without a mobile number. I'm apprehensive that if I add my number now, I might not get into beta because I'll get bumped down on the list. Any way I could send you or someone from EC my ph # so you can just add it to my existing records?
Also, I'd be at Pax - all I'd have to do is take a bus from UW to downtown Seattle, but the tickets are all gone (been gone since I checked in early August), and there will be no additional tickets available at the door this year (so the website says). Unless you can get me in on Pax yourself, I won't be able to go.

I'm still confused, why do we need our phones and how do they tie into the alternate reality game?
More importantly though, there is a new Q and A we at filii de Duriel, the chaos guild. There's some pretty juicy info in it and we give a huge thanks to Miguel, Brent and the team!

Couldn't help but laugh at some of the translations, but enjoyable read non-the less. Here's like the worst I saw though.
Them good, they are the most annoying because they are rules. You deviate would be only one point of the Codex Astartes, bam, heresy and all that follow as a violent death inconvenience.
Though still disappointed at not hearing about mutations yet for Chaos.

I didnt read all 25 pages of this thread, just the official interviews on the first.
- I read that it will be 3rd person, any chance that there will be an option for 1st person as I hate third person games?
-I kind of laughed when one dev said imagine the biggest MMO you know and double it. Sooo the battlefield will be the size of Europe and take a couple weeks real time to walk across? World War 2 MMO was half the size of Europe.
-Land Speeders and Storm Talons for vehicles?
|
If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM! |

True, there are not that many enemies that you should be hacking in skyrim as in a MASSIVE MMO 40K RPG, where admittedly there will be lots of choppy units that you want to see. Third person gives you the perspective to tackle that much choppy. Food for thought, would you want to go into melee with 20-40 orks in a skyrim-esque interface, or with the Space Marine style?

Wat.
Skyrim's "hack and slash" is extremely shallow and to be frank, combat in that game is probably the worst thing about it.

Skyrim's ranged combat system in TP sucks. It doesn't have the melee/ranged blend that presumably this game will have. Zoom functions can make TPS ideal for longer-range shooting games.
